RJ member rigsby's 18-hole Golf Scramble was super, just got home, I had the greatest time! I highly recommend attending if you're in South Florida, as I believe there will now be more of them he'll be announcing here.

Very well organized, it ran like clockwork, easy for even a novice like me to play & enjoy. And at only $40 at this particular country club it was an incredible bargain. Pleasant & helpful staff there, it was a delight from start to finish.

I was in rigsby's own foursome (40+ played), and while we weren't the top team, we were right in the middle of the pack. An amazing accomplishment for our team considering my participation, first time I've ever done 18 holes. Which means if you're a novice or modest player you won't be shamed in this scramble format.

And I met the nicest people, including a charming lady on our foursome from the UK who winters in Florida. I'm hoping to stay in touch with her when she returns home next week.

And BTW, this wasn't an RJ event, or a gay golfing event, nor full of lesbians as someone online here had assumed in an earlier post. It was just PEOPLE, and GOLFERS, since I never heard the word "gay" used once, and I hadn't the slightest idea who was gay and who wasn't. Thanks, rigsby, it was excellent!

So I highly endorse rigsby's Scrambles, and encourage anyone here who plays golf in South Florida to join us in future ones. icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks, Bob, for the testimonial. It was very rewarding to see the event go of so smoothly. And "yes" I will be planning additional scrambles and I hope we get some more RJ participation!

I'd certainly like to participate.... my broker-dealer convention is held this time of year, maybe next year we can make it happen!

    Thanks Chad!

Well you know I'll be signing up again if the dates work, after the wonderful time I had on Saturday. I don't know if you spoke to "Tony" yet, our golf instructor to whom you referred me over 18 months ago, but I did yesterday.

I was so happy as I was driving from the Woodmont Country Club afterwards that I phoned him on my car's hands-free Bluetooth (don't wanna set the bad example here of appearing to drive one-handed with a cell phone). I couldn't wait to share the good news with him, of how well it had gone, how much I had enjoyed your Scramble, and wanna do one again.

Give him a call, if you haven't already, he may have some news for you about a future Scramble. And he may request he & I be in the same foursome, which I would enjoy.

Watch the Golfing Forum, I think another Scramble may happen in June, if that fits into your schedule. rigsby is the guy in charge, so perhaps contact him directly to get on his mailing list. There are also other golfing activities he does besides the Scramble.

Glad this was a huge success and everyone had fun.

Hey, if I had a set of Pings, I would dust 'em off and drive down!!

You're only roughly 200 miles away. And you don't need Pings, or anything fancy. My pro ordered me a very inexpensive set of clubs, more than adequate for my playing level. Do you have clubs now?

You can have similar experiences & stories almost anywhere you live, if you really want them. And when you can't, relocation is an option to consider.
