What do you guys think of long-sleeve button ups with the sleeves cut off?

Living in Colorado, sometimes I feel I'm losing touch with what's in or not in fashion these days. Not that we don't have malls and stores that come out with new stuff, but every city has their own 'style' when it comes to clothes, music (even gay bar music here is different than say, Miami-NYC).

Anyhow, one of the things I picked up here from a friend is wearing button up long-sleeve shirts without the sleeves. I see him wearing them all the time, but he has a tattoo on 1 arm. I have 1 cut-off long sleeve shirt I made and it looks good but the design//shape/cut of the shirt makes it look like it was made that way. It's not like plaid/plain my friend usually wears. I've caught another guy here and there doing something similiar.

Part of me feels it's borderline 'hillbilly', but at the same time the right shirt on the right person can come out looking really nice. Can anyone from Cali/S. Florida give some input? There's a shirt I want to cut, but kinda fearing the 80s/hillbilly look.

Doesn't matter what you wear as long as you look good wearing it.

How do you know they're long sleeved shirts if they have no sleeves? icon_confused.gif

Lol, I was wondering that too. I think he means button up shirts with collars and the sleeves cut off and frayed.

Maybe they were short sleeve shirts before the sleeves were cut off. Seriously.....this is my Saturday night?

It depends on how defined and vascular the arms are that protrude from the sleeve holes.

I don't think even the muscliest of arms can make this look work.

Ironically though, this guy has some pretty muscley arms, and they make this look work.

I just wear what I want. I have my own style, and I'd rather not let people change me. It makes my life so much easier. icon_smile.gif

Depends where you're going. It can come off as trashy and really gay when you wear those shirts.

"Really gay"? That's the best you could come up with?

That's what button-down short sleeve shirts are for. Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor, wears it very well.

Haha I had never seen that before. But if you have big muscled arms it can look hot I guess.
