I mean, nearly all gay people (men and women) are likable, and we are NOT. FUCKING. BORING. which is a huge deal.

Also, we are just free in so many beautiful ways, not slaves to some meaningless social system.

    Gotta love it.

no, gay people can be just as stupid and boring as anyone else. plus, they're even bigger slaves to the social system. you fail.

    "not inferior" =/= "superior"

    We all are equal.
we may look and feel that way. but we all are equal
neither up nor down...just at same level, but in different buildings.

I don't know about "superior" which is very broad. But I do PREFER the company of gay men, for these personal reasons (which of course don't apply to all, but to more gays than straights I encounter):

    - Simply more interesting, even fascinating at times, less likely to be boring
    - More original thinkers. Not always the most technically brilliant, but more creative
    - A better artistic & esthetic sense
    - Usually a better sense of humor, more spontaneously funny, more entertaining company overall
    - Friendlier and more open & relaxed, at least in gay-friendly environments
    - Greater chance they'll like me, too, and be more accepting (or perhaps at least tolerant) of me
    - More likely we'll find common grounds for agreement on more topics
    - More common interests
    - They have the best gossip!
    - I simply bond with other gays more quickly & easily, I really sense that "family" thing going on

And some are, no question about it. Oddly I'll listen to gossip, but ignore most of it, and spread little myself. I find it entertainment, and to hear what the other guys are thinking, and learn what might be motivating their own attitudes & actions.

I think maybe because the other most gossipy group of men I've ever known are soldiers, the antithesis of gay queens. I learned to discount & disregard gossip & rumors in the Army because most of it was bad info, that undermined our military mission. In fact, I often play Devil's Advocate with gossip, offering more innocent counter explanations.

I find that once you start looking at yourself or your identity group as being inherently "superior", this necessitates finding a target person or group of people as being "inferior".

    Such as:

"Well, sure I might keep a collection of my toenail clippings on top of my buffet, BUT damned if that buffet isn't a (replica of) an authentic Rococo piece demonstrating my eminently superior aesthetic in selecting furniture. Unlike that awful Bernie Silberstein over there with his perfectly pedicured feet and his shit-weasel collection of IKEA furniture."

While I think many gay men can be more naturally sensitive than their straight counterparts, unfortunately many had enough stress or trauma growing up that they still have "issues." Although I'm sympathetic to those who suffered, some of the "stuff" can get tiresome in physically grown adult men.

Still rings true to this day. Unfortunately in the often highly politicized nature of officers scrambling to get the best OERs and edge over their peers for their next rank, the gossip mill can often have very ugly trickle down effects. Especially once the snowball arrives down at the level of the enlisted folks and the civil service workforce. Contractors are less directly impacted (at least until the next fiscal year or whenever the contract is up for bidding)

Superior = Arrogant (which perhaps you are, and I am sorry if that is so)

    "Equal" would be more appropriate

ew no. I disagree. Superior in what way?

We cannot even reproduce with eachother, therefore making gays not fit for survival.... if it wasn't for straights our species would die out lol.

We're definitely not superior, but we can make pretty baster babies with our lesbian sisters if we need to. icon_lol.gif

This. I am tolerant of others' insecurities, as I hope they are of mine, but when I see them manifesting themselves in nasty put-downs to make yourself feel better, I turn away.

And then there's the stuff GAY guys do.

    yeah, but c'mon.
none of us wanna have sex with a lesbian.

we'd have to use a turkey baster and that could get super awkward.

I would argue that while we may be a genetic anomaly in the species, this anomaly serves as a naturally selecting check on overpopulation.

Though this check may be muted somewhat by the developing world, which will still be cranking out 5 babies per vagina whereas we in the first world will likely have a 30% population of gays and lesbians by 2035.

    I agree in a way.

I think there are some things from the gay side of life straight people could take notice of.
