According to a new poll released by Public Policy Polling he leads by a mere one point (within margin of error) against Elizabeth Colbert Busch.

Our local (left) newspaper called him "the most repugnant politician in recent years"...

    Really? Worse than John Edwards?!?

    Hm.

They see an (R) after someone's name and go rabid, while a (D) gets you a free pass.

john edwards is from north carolina. he is definitely the most repugnant politician from south carolina in years.

and trying to say a guy isn't as bad for mysteriously leaving the country under lies to visit his mistress as compared to a guy who knocked up his secretary while his wife died of cancer to suggest any sense of competency is akin to letting people like you vote.

    I know where J E is from and M S.
The editorial didn't make distinctions between N or S Carolina. This was a WV newspaper.
Don't try to soften what Edwards did.

And where did I support Mark Sanford? You make an assumption. So that makes you an ass. PS: I thought if it was 'only sex' it was alright ...(see Wm. J Clinton affair)

no one is trying to soften what edwards did. what i am suggesting is that you're an idiot for your use of equivocation. if you look hard enough, you'll see the words "i can't believe how much of an idiot you are. seriously, they don't even make asshats your size because your asshat head is so large. you have nothing of worth to add to any conversation. zero. nada. zilch. i can't believe you were actually dumb enough to use that 'ass' in 'assumption' thing. what are you? a sixth grader? clearly you need to be put into some facility to keep people like you from engaging with the rest of the world. i bet you don't even know what the fallacy of equivocation is. the only thing people like you contribute to this world is you make people like me seem vastly more intelligent in comparison. i'd rather talk to a carton of low-fat yogurt" hidden between the "q" and "u."

As a Democrat, I would place Edwards squarely ahead of Sanford in repugnancy. And Calibro we care because I think most of us D & R & Ind would like to see Sanford retired permanently which this race, if lost, in all liklihood would do.

How is this any different than Bill Clinton and his conduct with Monica Lewinsky?

Hmm, Republicans want to ban gay marriage but they seem perfectly fine with adultery if it's done by someone in their party. Vitter, and Sanford, just shows their hypocrisy, they want to lecture gays about ruining marriage, when they're going around cheating, and ruining their own marriages.icon_rolleyes.gif

he held the seat before and the opponent did not even want to debate. Not sure what the issue is.

If Bill Clinton can do it, why cant Sanford?

Don't forget Gingrich, "Wide Stance" Craig, and a dozen others. And while Republicans will try to throw back a few Democrat names, there are far fewer, and they haven't campaigned on "family values" and persecuting gays for allegedly threatening straight marriages. It's the 2-faced hypocrisy more than the sin that offends, as these Republicans try to legislate Christian morals as fast as they're violating them.

South Carolina was also the first state to secede from the union prior to the US Civil War.

Do you really need this explained?
Because Bill Clinton is not in the party that preaches family values at the drop of a fucking hat, that's why.

Guess they're big on forgiveness when it's one of their own lost sheep!

Are you quiet done being ass-holier-than thou?

    I thought not.

I'd have a battle of wits, but not with an unarmed person like you.

Good day and good luck in life.

Some of you seem to forget that Clinton was brought up on impeachment charges---not for getting a blow job!---but for perjury and suborning perjury. All while he was the chief enforcer of the constitution! (supposedly)

Sanford is scum....for his wife and family.
He took off to South America to see his mistress, while claiming to be hiking the Appalachian Trail and out of cell phone reach. Even his staff didn't know where he really was.
    I don't care.
He didn't harm anyone but his wife & family. You can't really claim he harmed the citizens of South Carolina. (The charges of using state planes/funds was never really proven)

As for John Edwards: He fucked around on his then-cancer-stricken wife while she was undergoing chemo, etc. (For the record, this was 2008. Mrs Edwards died in 2010)

I couldn't care less. That's between him and his wife.

BUT: He was indicted on 6 charges of using campaign cash to pay Rielle Hunter (the mistress & mother of his child) to shut up and he also forced his aide, Andrew Young, to claim the resulting baby was his, not Edwards. (His trial was declared a mistrial)

    THAT matters.

You're so ignorant I don't know where to begin, so I won't start.

I've trashed a fair share of republicans over the years. Each party is full of dipshits. I'm just tired of the one-way street RJ seems to be full of and the amnesia you lefties have when it comes to your own party.
    Suck it.
