funny thing. they interviewed him on the morning show and his boss, mr. ebro himself, was there asking him the questions. dude actually denied that he was gay and said that he was with a female prostitute. the whole interview he was trying to save face but yet you could hear the nervousness in his voice and he was stuttering a few times. they kept on grilling him, begging for him to come out even though they didn't say it directly to him and he just wouldn't bend.

he did admit to spending money on hookers and tricking. at one point, he tried to dismiss that he was soliciting sex from the male hooker.

he calls himself "the strongest finisher in the game" but like what my homeboy said, on friday, how can he call himself that when he doesn't get a chance to start. dude has been busted 3 times.

Wow. That interview has to be the most riveting/excruciating please-come-out intervention ever broadcast. They really did want him to come out, too. This part was nice:

In 2013, people care about people being themselves and not having to hide who they are. … Are you, or aren’t you? Because don’t hide, ‘cause that’s a disservice to our gay and lesbian listeners, and that’s a disservice to people out there who are afraid, and you’re a public figure, so then people go, yo, Cee, come on, man, you can do this for us. ... It’s people making sure that people aren’t hiding who they are in a day and time where we want everyone to be celebrated for just being themselves.

Then near the end they were all telling him he could be the next Jason Collins and get calls from Michelle Obama. Like pazzy said, they were begging him to come out.

well... i do. icon_lol.gif crazy thing is that i had my suspicions about mr. cee years ago before wendy williams started gossipping about it on her then radio show. you know how you can just sense that someone is gay just by their voice or how they look. well, listening to mr. cee on the radio whether it was on saturday morning or on his afternoon show, i KNEW dude was probably gay.

if you listen to his voice, he sounds like he's gay. don't ask me how but you can just hear him saying "i'm gay" in his voice especially when he would talk with his former host sunny, who mysteriously disappeared. he ain't the only gay guy though.

He was put on blast by some transgender woman a few years back.

    I am not shocked.

I'm surprised the backlash from this interview wasn't heavier. Some force must be muzzling the hip hop artists en masse. Browsing the hip hop forums and websites in the past few days, I'm surprised by wide defense of homophobia among hip hop fans. Suggests a permanent underclass.

It's simply an observation. Noting cultural resistance to the evolution of acceptance of gays in this country.

you act as if it's an isolated incident with the hip hop community when it's society in general that is showing resistance in general.

The query was more anthropological. I know the cultural context behind it.

I'm not surprised that you haven't. This topic is mostly relevant for people who do. Look him up if you'd like. It's an interesting story.

So did he resign today or what? There was some new audio on YouTube of a transgender prostitute offering him services and Twitter just blew up, apparently. I heard he resigned, on-the-air, a few hours ago.

Think it's one of those resign or be fired situations. This is like the 4th time. He has a problem.

I agree. I hope he has some confidants, though, who can help him figure out that it's NOT his sexual orientation that is the problem.

Because as long as he THINKS it is, as seems to be the case, he'll continue DL'ing all around town hoping the TMZs of the world don't catch him "out" in the open.

And/or, he'll go rummaging for some Xtianist quack to help him try and convince people he's "fixed" ( icon_rolleyes.gif ) and ready for a triumphant return to the hip hop world.

Maybe now that he's resigned he'll make the time to commit himself to getting help. I just hope it's the right kind.

Speaking of "resign or be fired"...

    http://realtalkny.uproxx.com/2013/09/topic/topic/news/mr-cee-has-resigned-from-hot-97-official-statement-from-hot-97/

Alexandra Cameron, SVP/General Manager of HOT 97“Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr Cee has chosen to resign. We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee’s personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97.

Moments ago, he officially signed off, on the air and will finish out his last show today on September 11, 2013, an already sad day for New York City.”
