Okay, I know I"m going to get some flak for posting such an open ended forum, but I'm looking for some help.
Trainer's ARE expensive you know so I hope there's someone out there that can give me some solid advice to help me out...

    Here's what I do:
    - 20-25 miles a week (running 6 days a week)
    - Mon. 1 hr. Kickboxing
    - Tues. 1 hr. Kickboxing + 1 hr. Muay Thai
    - Wed. 1 hr. Kickboxing
    - Thurs. 1 hr. Muay Thai
    - Sat. 1 hr. Kickboxing + 1 hr. Muay Thai

I've been trying to drop weight like crazy...which seems to be working, but i don't want to sacrifice any chance of building some good definition. (and i don't want to give up my schedule as is it now, just add...i'm a serious runner and i'm serious about martial arts)

    Sooo..that being said...what NOW?

I've got six weeks til i head out for a nice warm vacation in LA and I want to look good. I'm seeing a group of old friends, and I'd like to impress.

    Thank you,
    -Roberts85

If you're not willing to change your workout schedule the only things left are you diet and your amount of sleep.

Eat a lot of lean protein, get plenty of sleep, and cut the alcohol out of your diet totally.

Maybe throw in some push-ups to help develop your upper body? There are a lot of really great floor exercises on this site that you can add (15-20 min more) that will help give you a bit more muscle and tone up what you already have.

Well from my experience in the Weight Loss Challenge, nutrition is the key. I've dropped more weight in the past 6 weeks than I did in the previous 3 years of working out.

Check out nu4you.net to see what they do there, and check out the articles on nutrition they have here. I can say that writing down and measuring everything you eat is an eye opener.

You are 5'9 and 180lbs. Since you don't have a very good picture (much less several pictures) on here, it's very hard to tell if you really do need to lose weight or if this is all in your head.

I've seen 180lbs look really good on guys who were 5'9, but they were usually bodybuilders. Based on your workout, it would not appear that you are a bodybuilder.

I would add that there must be something HORRIBLY wrong with your diet if you are doing all that cardio (kickboxing) and still aren't getting lean.

For the average person, doing that much cardio would have them looking like a skeleton in six weeks.

First off, you need to realize you aren't going to get a whole lot done in 6 weeks. You can definitely trim some fat. But, if you are wanting that beach body we all covet, you may want to extend that goal over a period of several months to years.

A little crisco and some fishing line and we're in business!

Seriously though, don't freak out so much just be do what you can without overdoing it and just relax.
Worse case scenario, if they turn out to act like complete jerks just because you aren't super hardcore ripped then be thankful that you learned they were assholes before it was too late.

Just have fun man, that's the important thing when catching up with mates!

add some compound body weight exercises like pull ups, dips, body squats, and pushups. Also, consider changing from the distance running and add in some intensity running. Sprints for 30 sec at a time with 1 minute rest for about 5-10 minutes. lotsa water, no booze, lotsa lean protein too. good luck
