A Banner Year for Gun Sales

I was happy to see my local gun dealer was able to import the new Springfield XDs. I picked one up early today but have not yet carried it to the range. As some of you may know, the XDs is a sub-compact chambered in 45 acp, the old reliable -- in regards to kills -- heavy and slow cartridge introduced by John Browning over 100 years ago now.

All in all Barry O's attempt to "manage" the guns in the lives of Americans has been a great success for firearms makers. Not only has U.S. production soared, but European production is way up. The XDs for instance is manufactured in Croatia. One of the few bright spot in the Italian economy by the way, is the huge increase in output of Tanfoglio, an Italian arms maker.

Fluttering well under the breeze formed by the usual liberal mouth-pieces is news that gun crime has drmatically dropped in America. Some suggest that either the typical suspect thugs have been obliterated by homeowners packing, or perhaps most of the serious cons are enjoying pleasant butt-fucking in the penitentiary.

It seems some folks, need to be more persistent in their political activity.

I'm glad you are more concerned that the government wants to regulate what goes on with guns but you have no problem with the government regulating who you can love.

Just remember nobody is crying that spray paint is more regulated than guns, as is white out.

It's purely anecdotal evidence, but many of the dealers I've talked to and the ranges that I've gone to have commented on, or have had present a lot of newbie shooters -- people who've purchased their first gun.

I think the polling might be a little suspect. If a pollster called me asking if I owned guns, and how many, I'd deny having any. None of their damn business, and who knows what's done with the info they're collecting.
