Breaking it to someone gently...

What do you in the following situations:

    1. You met someone in a club hooked up had a three day substance-fuelled fling. The guy is great and lovely, but you explain you're not looking for anything more than fun here and there. He politely and respectfully stays in touch and buys you expensive gifts, takes you out to dinner. But you know ultimately though you think he's wonderful, the sexual attraction has waned in the two weeks since. What is the most respectful and kind way to let them know...Especially if they keep hinting they want to have sex/complimenting you sweetly. Is it uncommon to realise later in the dating process you're not that into someone?

    2. If you meet someone and you sense they're into you, is it arrogant to assume or can you just get a vibe? If so - if you know you're not into them - should I keep a polite distance? or is that perceived as cold?

No, not uncommon. This is the best time for such realizations to occur, which is very early.

Tell the fellow you just don't feel that way, and if you want you can say you're telling him now as you don't want to lead him on. icon_wink.gif

i say tell him but if you are having sex with him that will make it hard to believe you. however, he may not be that into you either. he may just want sex. i say sit down and talk to him

I'm just wondering what the cute guy making the eyes thing is up to. You've got a WAY more intense thing going on with your imaginary guy.
