Would liking/dating older guys ( 25- 45 ) be looked as such a bad thing?

Yes, but you shouldn't give a fuck. Everyone has his or her own preferences.

I was always considered kind of "mature" for my age in my teens and 20's, and I found I had a lot more in common with older guys, and I enjoyed their companionship a lot more when it came to dating. Nobody should have to explain or apologize for their choice of a dating partner. Whatever works for you.

And I've always liked/preferred younger guys. It really is just a number - I mean the age difference. Sad, however, that there are a few younger guys making a bad name for the good guys. What I mean by that are the guys looking for a sugar daddy, not a real life partner. I'm very cautious when I get contacted by a guy.

Agreed. At 25 now, I'm in a relationship now with a guy 13 years older than myself. Nobody has ever given us crap for the age difference and even if they did, it wouldn't matter because it's he and I not he, everybody else and I.

I've always been attracted to older men too, but at my age, there are fewer of them who are still single.

Simple: Do what makes you happy, who cares what everyone else thinks. Life's to short to be worrying about other people worrying about your personal life.

Age is not just a number. It represents a certain amount of growth, maturity (in most people) and life experience. It is just a number as it relates to physical attraction. But it is more than just a number when it plays in to a relationship. Its not unmanagable. But its there and does come up. When you are younger, its more of just a number because you dont have any real life experience yet.

A guy I met who was 22 and whos boyfriend was 40 said something interesting to me. He said one of the challenges in his relationship was that he was experiencing things for the first time just based on his age and life experience. He said that the odd thing about his partner being so much older was that he wasnt experiencing them the same way since he had lived through it already. He was just holding his hand or trying to prevent him from making the mistakes he did (like a parent). He found that to be somewhat frustrating. While it was new to him his partner was "been there done that".

If we dated. By the time you were born I had done HS and college. Moved to NYC. Began my career and did everything someone in their 20s does in NYC. When you started kindergartden, I closed 12 years in NYC and moved to LA to begin the next chapter of my career. Now you are in college and just starting your life. I am looking more and more at where my career will end and beginning to think retirement.

Again, not saying it cant work. However it is something that has to be dealt with because there is so much difference in life experience, salary, goals, etc.

I think He means that there is a difference in life experience that can be a deal- breaker in SOME cases.

I spent a large chunk of My life with someone 14 years My senior. I was the "grown-up" in that situation - trust Me.

The largest chunk of My life was spent with somone 7 years younger from a COMPLETELY different background. We were equals and continue to consider to be each other's best friend.

The digits are just ways to keep track.

If two Men can connect and can wake up in the morning and really smile...and say "fuck work, I'm gonna be late..." numbers are just irrelevant.

7 years is pretty much the same generation. And if you are older, its even less of a difference. One being 30 and the other 40 is different than one being 27 and the other 17. I am referring to something like 15 to 30 years.
