Hello everybody, I'm visiting NYC for two weeks for work and will be there by myself.

What are the best places to go out alone? I've heard of Splash and XL, but not sure those are my best bets for going alone.

Can anyone recommend? I'm 26 very fit and usually into meeting similars..
    Thanks guys

It could be a nightclub or bar, just some place to grab a few drinks and maybe meet somebody hot

yea Turin gave you good spots.

therapy, boxers, ritz, and bartini are nice bars in hells kitchen. Penthaus on Fridays is good too

g lounge in chelsea is good.

the big clubs are splash and XL if you like that but i prefer the bars. Stage 48 is another club on saturdays.

Splash is a good place to go if you're solo because it's mostly tourists that go there. Most locals will tell you that they never go to Splash unless they have out of town visitors.

XL is more of a dance club, which I think is always good when you're alone also. I think dancing on the dance floor or standing on the side and watching people dance is a good way to not look out of place when you're by yourself.

Therapy and Boxers have always been packed every time I've gone. I always feel like these are places for groups of NYers so it might be hard to meet people there by yourself.

Therapy and XL are in Hell's Kitchen and Boxers and Splash are in Chelsea.

    Don't forget Boiler Room (E.4th & 2ndAve).

BEST Juke Box in the East Village. Cheap drinks, Hot Dudes.

Weekends tend to be a younger crowd.

And You can go ANYwhere in NYC solo - it is actually easier.

You don't have to babysit friends and if Yer reasonably nice to look at...You'll never have to buy Yer own drinks!!!!

Splash can be fun with a group of friends - but it is a Gay theme park..

I have been here for literally, something like 487 years and I don't know ANYone who goes there unless they are hosting a semi-pro bodybuilder from Peoria.

I think they still actually do shower dances there...

yes, that's a cool place to feel the vibe of downtown. also, check out the 'eastern block' on ave A and east 6th, just like 'the cock' near by it's very trashy and cool.
AND do not go to ritz or therapy, that's the least attractive crowd there... especially ritz.

    Definitely don't go to Ritz.

My top choices in order are:

    Boxers
    Gym Bar
    Therapy/Industry
    Bartini
    Xes Lounge

Agreed. Eastern Bloc is a late night destination - it rocks after 2:00 AM.

The Cock can be fun and there are cool Guys there -- and MANY celebrities LOL. But keep in mind those Boys are looking to PARTY.

If you love older guys, go to The Townhouse Bar. It is an upscale gay bar but I don't like it there because it looks like funeral homeicon_lol.gif

Agreed with Boxers and Boiler Room. The times I've been to Therapy I found it very easy to start talking to people. Another place is Barrage in Hell's Kitchen; they have two happy hours.

As for downtown, I would also suggest Nowhere and Phoenix. Nowhere is very divey, so it attracts lots of guys in plaid. Phoenix has a lot of hot guys on Fridays.
