Cicadas are all over the place in Japan during the summer time.
The summer heat in Japan can be oppressive with the high humidity.
The screeching of the cicadas seem to intensify the heat.
One step outside in Japan during summer time and you are drenched in sweat.

I remember one time I was with a man in his tiny apartment, making love on a sweat and whatever stained futon mattress with no a/c, in the afternoon. I am usually a loud moaner but it was so hot I thought we would melt into each other.

I just remember the sweat running down our bodies, the heat, the smell, the squishing of our bodies and the perpetual screeching of the cicadas. I thought I would pass out.

    That sounds pretty erotic actually.

They're everywhere at the farm. We've been feeding them to the chickens.

This week's issue of The Onion had a great satire about how ciccadas will react when they learn about 9/11, etc.

They creep me out! I remember the last time they were here. Funny how that 17 years sorta came and went lol. I haven't seen or heard them yet, but I know I will soon. When should they be gone?

I like the Southern France version. It sounds like a TV advertisement for soap or olive oil.
But the Japanese version was too loud. I remember I couldn't even talk to my friends when we were outside. And then they die and their dead bodies of the size of a finger lie all over the place.

Supposedly they are quite tasty, with as much protein as red meat and considerably less fat.
