Okay, so I have been wondering for the longest time if there exist such a thing as a "gay country boy." I live here in the south, and all of them here are very homophobic yet they are the nicest people ON EARTH until they find out your sexual orientation....

Yes they are. I'm dating one and I know several others who fit what I think you're referring to.

They're hard to find because they bravely pretend to be straight and trash talk all things considered gay, especially flamers.

So, the "nicest people on earth" are nice, until they get to know you? Yeah, I might want to change that from nicest people on earth to something a bit more honest. How about "most backward, judgemental backwoods moonshine drinking yokels on earth?"

They do exist. I know one, and if I can generalize based on this one, isolated experience, maintaining their trust is key.

Yup. I tend to consider myself a country guy. Lived in a town of 900 people for 10 years (in the country near this town) and then moved to a slightly bigger town of 15 thousand in northern Canada. You will usually find me wearing plaid (wish i could say i was joking).

    Plus I am fully out.

    Canada doesn't count.

Canada always counts. Pretty established rule.

here's the basic rule of thumb: if it exists as a "type" or an "interest" in straight men, then it exists in gay men and is probably the same proportions of the population as in straight guys (of course, gay men are only 10% of the male population statistically-speaking so you're less likely to run into them)

They may not necessarily look like your stereotypical "country boy" either, so bear that in mind, though that technically goes for straight guys too.

    Case in point:

My next project involves getting my hands on one of these

    96jeepcherokee.jpg

and turning it into one of these:

Never judge a book by its cover. You never know, there might be pictures!

Fuck that shit, lol. I had to push start it the other day. For such a light little car its a pain in the ass to get it going very fast. I blame the tiny little wheels, hahaha

My ex is a small town, western wearing, former bull riding, had a raccoon as a pet, horse shoeing, military "gay country boy". They're out there.
