I read the 3d conversion is not that good. But the ship warping looks amazing in 3d. What about Imax? Is Imax3d better than regular 3d?

It opens here on Wednesday but it's already opened in the UK, Australia and Germany.

I love me some quinto spock icon_smile.gif

If you're looking to see it in the theater, you might as well go with the 3D!

Just a personal opinion. Never watch a post production 3D film. If it wasn't filmed in 3D it's not worth the time. They may claim 3D conversion has gotten better. But I wouldn't risk it. I like 3D movies but I'll never watch a post production 3D film.

I've seen it last Friday, I loved it...
Is it converted to 3D? Didn't felt that way while I was watching.
Personally, I felt it as one of the best 3D movies.

Is that what they did with Titanic? I never saw it when it was re-released in 3D, but I heard it looked pretty good.

I can't wait for it to come out I will watch it at midnight if I can. I won't watch it in 3D though not worth 15 bucks in my opinion. plus i wear glasses and then i have to wear the 3D glasses over my glasses it's just a mess so yea I will pass on the 3D and watch in normal D.

It opens in Chicago this Thursday, I can't wait! Based on how much I loved the previous film I might see it twice, once in regular version and then in 3D.

GUYS! Please post back after you see it in 3d and/or Imax. The difference in cost is pretty high and I just got raped by the Gatsby 3d. Looked totally cartoon.

I avoid 3D when I can. I think it's a big ripoff and I don't find my enjoyment of the movie to be any better. The sole exception being Avatar.

I think it's the movie industry's way of ripping you out of $5 more.

This! After the Avatar hype, I saw Sanctum and Wrath of the Titans in 3D and it wasn't worth it (Titans sucked btw). I don't have any intentions in seeing Star Trek in 3D, but I have to admit that there are certain movies that would warrant a look in 3D. Jurassic Park and Titanic are two of them.

Great movie. No need for 3d. Very enjoyable.

For all trekkies all the director did was rip parts from every other movie and series and hash something together for the movie. Its not a new story and a cop out to bringing anything new. Only people who have watched all of trek will pick up these undertones.

Have in mind JJ doesnt like trek and it was just a step for him to get the Star wars contract.

Not a 3D buff. I prefer good acting, story, and CGI. I care nothing about 3D. I hope its a good film....

    We will soon find out.

    agree.

Viewed it last night, in 3-D (My man screwed up buying the tickets).

    Next time no 3-D.

My only gripe is: NO shitless scenes of Chris Pine (Captan Kirk).
