    And if you don't mind...

    1) What is your weight?
    2) How old are you?
    3) How much do you exercise?

Someone please answer this for me! I want to lose weight but i have no idea how much to eat.

    1. 190 lbs
    2. 20
    3. Weights 4x a week, HIIT ~5x a week

I fear that if I eat how much my dietician told me (1900, but she didn't seem to understand HIIT) then I'll go into starvation mode.

    Bodytype: mesomorph
    Current weight 202
goal to be 190 by mid december.
I'm in a leaning out phase.
cardio begins and end my workouts: begin with 40 minutes split into 4x10's: stair climber(1st and last), tread mill and stationary bike.
core workout(referring to this phase of using own bodyweight is pyramid training.
6 aspects of the core training-the first three are desinated a s pyramid exercises.
    chinups
    situps
    pushups-multiple varieties
    standing squats
    kettlebell drill: clean and press
400m run or jump rope training (this exercise is the hardest).
the pyramid on the first three:
for every chinup you do you are doubling the situps and tripling the pushups. you can start at 10 or at one.

    break
then over to the weight room
    chest/arms
    back/legs/shoulders-on alternate days with above
chinups in between sets no more than 8.

then 10 minutes on the stairclimber.

    6 meals a day- 2500-3000 cals guestimate
    the gym 5 to 6 days/week, some days 2x

I have a 1200-1500 (usually 1200) calorie per day diet.

I'm about to weigh-in tomorrow; it should be 146lbs (I'm still 16lbs overweight though :rollicon_smile.gif

    I'm 23 years old.

I burn 270 calories each ride on the bike - 6 days a week.

Eating so little and burning as much as I do a day really isn't all that hard. I have a sedentary job - Accounting.

    I consume between 3500 and 4000 Cal a day.

I weigh about 200-205 depending on water weight.

    I am 25

    And I exercise 6-7 days a week:
    - 90 min cardio a day: 60 min warm-up and a 30 min cooldown
-30-45 min weights: Altermating days doing upperbody and lowerbody and doing core daily.

This maintains my weight pretty well, not too much gain or loss with the exception of water weight.

*I have started playing volleyball recently, and this regimine doesn't include any of the volleyball practice. I am actually working on a routine that incorporates the volleyball, but I have yet to figure it out because volleyball is a total body workout*

hummm I think you could go over 2000 but stay under 2500. One of the main things is carb and protein intake and the correct times to eat them. Email me and I will explain a little more so I dont bulk up this topic.

You're 6'1", 190, and muscular. Why do you think you need to lose weight? You look great now. I think you will lose muscle if you try to lose weight. It seems to me you need to eat more, not less, in order to maintain the muscle mass and maybe add to it.

i usually eat between 3000 and 3500, but can honestly go above 4000 without feeling like i stuffed my face. im honestly hungry 24 hours a day, even just after finishing meals.

    i exercise 90 minutes a day about 5/6 days a weeks.

i wish i could eat less... but i think that's a losing battle.

by the way, that gymnast is fucking smoking

So how are you guys tracking how many calories you're taking in daily? Are you using a computer program and selecting the items and volume you're eating? If so, what site do you use or are you just getting estimates from the labels?

You can track it all on The Daily Plate of course... http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/

I've started keeping my own food diary though. It's been REALLY useful and I can't recommend doing it enough.

For example I estimated I ate about 2500 calories a day, but in fact I eat 3000. The food diary lets you see what 'extras' you are eating.

People on here seem to eat less calories than I thought...

p.s. I don't know who the gymast is. He's proper hot though.

    5'10

    18

    Weights 4x/week
    Cardio 5x/week

Ok seriously, I eat roughly around 1000-1300 a day. I lost about 25 pounds over three/four months but im trying to get down to 155/160. If i continue to eat like this, will it be harder for me to lose weight than if I ate like 1500-1900 calories?

You seem on pretty low cals to me. Personally I wouldn't go that low. 1500-1900 seems better for someone of your size.

That said, if it's working for you - stick with it. icon_razz.gif

light cardio 5 times a day for 4-5 hours (lifting/moving about at work)
daily crunches and pushups in the morning

    I'm 5' 6"ish

I eat between 1700 and 2200 cals on work days, but maybe up to 2800 at the weekend.

I used to be 80+kg but I found out that I had a slow thyroid and hernia.

Once my second hernia op goes through properly I can go back to weights and lower body resistance.

My weight is 133 pounds last time I checked (January). Height is 5'8. I don't do any exercise except walking to the bus stop.

    I eat around 2100--2200 calories a day and that's without exercise icon_eek.gif

    Morning:

-Big bowl of cereal with frozen berries (around 60g) with milk. 9am

-A full rectangular tub of lots of rice and chicken in a special sauce . I would say around 500 calories. 1pm

    -a chocolate bar or biscuit

-Jacket potato with beans, coleslaw and quite a bit of butter, and salad.7pm

-half a bottle or quarter bottle of chocolate, banana milkshake

-A massive chinese dinner with lots of rice and either chicken or pork (fills a whole plate and is quite often overflowing...around 700 calories. 12am

*P.S. If I don't eat around every 4 hours I will start to get hungry. If over 5 hours I will start to get shaky and feel like blacking out.

    I weigh about 170.

Let's just say I don't need ID to buy alcohol.

I run about 30 miles per week, hit the gym 3x per week.

I do a lot of walking just as part of my daily life. I walk at least 2 miles per day, climb about 100-200 stairs. Given a choice between taking the subway and walking 20 minutes, I choose to walk. Offer me an elevator or the stairs, and I'll take the stairs.

No idea how many calories I eat a day. But I eat a lot of food. A typical day will include:

-- big bowl of hot cereal mixed with canned pumpkin
-- several servings of fruit (berries, apples, bananas)
-- two cans of tuna mixed with lowfat mayo, two pieces of bread
    -- zone bar
-- 16 oz. container of lowfat cottage cheese
    -- 1/4 - 1/2 large container of 0% FAGE Greek yogurt
-- several servings of whole grain, unsweetened cereals (Kashi 7 Whole Grain Puffs, generic puffed wheat, etc.)
-- several dollops of Fearn Soya Granules
-- large salad with grilled chicken

I remember reading that the human body was designed to consume a lot of food and to move around a lot. Looks as though I do both.
