Getting a Bubble Butt

    I want to workout for a bubble butt, what else other than squats can I do to make my butt get big? icon_biggrin.gif

    Leg presses, Jefferson squats, various forms of deadlifting (straight-leg/conventional/sumo) all can. You have to focus on getting the glutes tight during the lift versus just lifting the weight.

    I start off with a leg press, 3 sets to build up to my max than drop set it.

    Then I do lunge walks, and don't pussy foot it, every step should be a lunge. 3 sets at about 20 steps per foot. If I don't collapse on the second 2 sets then I don't like I pushed myself hard enough.

    Then I do the donkey kickbacks. I go near full max and shoot for 3 reps 4 to 6. The key with these is that I hold each rep for a 5 count.

    Then I am off to the leg extension. 3 sets of 75% max, something I can do 12 reps with a slight burn. Then I drop set it til I want to cry.

    Then I do the same thing with leg curls.

    and then I finish off with the abductors. 2 sets heavy weights 10 reps, with a 5 count hold and then finish off with a last set of 50% max with 25 reps to get the blood pumping into my muscles.


    This is my ass and leg workout. I think it works for me.




    key thing with all of these is that if you want to build up your ass, you need to work the back side of your legs so when pushing off, push off with your heel. and whenever possible, you should be squeezing/flexing the muscles while you are working out. But this is true of all your muscles.

    Good luck on building your ass. It's a tough job.

    I just do squats, deadlifts, step ups, lunges.

    You also have to eat more. If your eating at a deficit it wont grow or so i have read.

    If you're doing the squats right, that's the best "assercise". You probably have the genes, so if the squats still aren't doing it, it's probably your form or not enough weight and/or you're not eating enough.

    I've been doing Pistols and they are the BEST butt exercise on the planet. Most people have difficulty with them at first so I've posted a progression video above.

    Do a Tabata (20 sec work, 10 sec rest, 8 x's) of plyo lunges. Your feel your ass muscles for a week and you'll be amazed how high up your butt muscles actually go!!

    No, but most likely you WILL fall a lot at first. Just allow yourself to fall back and keep trying. I also find it helpful to point your toes ever so slightly outward to keep you stable at first.

    Some of my unorthodox routines:

    Rollerblading

    Lunges with a medicine ball

    Biking

    Back extension machine. When you get to the top, scrunch your butt and hold it. My upper butt burns quite a bit afterwards.

    One of the biggest things about lunges and squats is that often people do them wrong and rely too much on the quads. The key is to engage the glutes when you squat (and lunge). That's not only proper form, but it'll help you with that bubble butt you want. icon_smile.gif

    A good way to make sure you're squatting correctly is to push off from the middle or the back of your foot (the heel), and make sure your back is at an angle similar to where it might be if you were taking a bow. If you're too upright and pushing off your toes, you'll be engaging your quads and not your glutes. And you risk hurting your back. So take that for what it's worth.

    Nah, that might be true for some things but you can get good results for the arse/thigh area regardless of body type.

    That's literally my life, dancers do that all the time and more, especially in modern.
    *guess that's why my ass looks the way it does..lol icon_cool.gif
