How often have you guys been a victim of Catfish? Talking to one dude right now whom I met via a phone app. He wouldn't video chat for various reasons. I'm getting turned off by the moment and I think I'm getting catfished.
Twice. Both times it was someone who had no pic on his profile but sent one as the first message. Remember, if they have a fake pic as their profile pic it has a high chance of being spotted but if it is only sent to a few people they will usually get away with it. For that reason I hardly ever respond to picless profiles now regardless of what picture they send after. I know I have missed out on some really attractive guys but the feeling of being catfished is much worse to me.
yes, i always find out, busting catfish can be fun, but sometimes its scary because you never know what there motives are, more than anything it waists your time, i dont give my number or anything real like to that anyone unless the can webcam me, and when you google search there pics and they come up all over the place you can be sure they are a catfish
i think this guy on here is cat fishing me, He told me weeks ago that he wanted to skype with me this weekend and now all of a sudden he said he cant because his brother might have prostate cancer .... seriously man ? i really liked him too, if he dosent end up skyping with me i'm going to stop talking to him, they say one of the signs of a catfish is that they will always make excuses not to get on cam
I got catfished really bad before the term even existed. I was a freshman in college at NCSU and at the time there was this hot basketball star named Illian Etimov that me and every gay guy and girl at NCSU was drooling over. I went to games just to see HIM. I would alter my path around campus just to see HIM.
One day while talking on gay.com, when they had the green java chat, I started talking to this guy named "Shoushboy" who claimed to be Etimov and had this accent just like him. He played me like a fiddle and dodged all attempts to meet in person. I would spend hours talking to this guy and would get upset if I thought he was talking to anyone else. He would agree to meet me and cook me dishes from his native land only to cancel on me every time.
I finally caught on when I called him on the phone while I was sitting across from the real Etimov in the dining hall. Also turned out he was swindling every gay guy I knew at NCSU, getting them to mail him gifts and cash, with hopes of meeting him and becoming the right hand of the local star.
I've definitely been catfished. Anytime someone's pics look TOO good, I'm leery. The last guy that catfished me claimed a friend took his pics. They looked like model pics I gave him the benefit of the doubt...but of course my suspicions turned out to be correct.
