I'm so proud of Angelina Jolie for sharing her insights about breast cancer. It's powerful and inspirational. My family have history of breast cancer as well. My aunt is thinking of doing a double mastectomy as well. She was scared but after reading Angelina Jolie she is determined to do it.

venue35 saidWhat an asshole you are. She's kept it a secret for 3 months. Angelina Jolie don't need any publicity but you sure as hell need a brain. (Or a job so that it can keep you away from that poor fucking keyboard that you torture everyday).

He doesn't know what he's talking about.

    Sorry about your mom.icon_sad.gif

you obviously don't know the story to begin with.

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/14/showbiz/angelina-jolie-double-mastectomy/index.html

Actress Angelina Jolie announced in a New York Times op-ed article on Tuesday that she underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning that she carries a mutation of the BRCA1 gene, which sharply increases her risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

and besides, it's HER business if she wants to do something like that. why does she feel the need to let the whole world know? nobody cares. how many people you know can actually find out if they have the BRCA1 gene? not that many unless you have cash out the ass like she does. i don't get what is the point of her announcing that shit. you're acting like she got diagnosed with cancer so she HAD to do what she did when it wasn't even necessary. she just wanted the damn attention. same thing as usual. what's new. if i were you, i'd be offended at her trying to use a sensitive subject for publicity.

it empowers and inspires other women who have been thinking of having the procedure done, u cunt. Nobody cares? I don't think so. Lots of women who have had breast cancer or who are pre-disposed to it care. It's a big deal.

Maybe theres some women out there who are too afraid to have the procedure done and after learning that Angelina jole has gone through it and survived--it will help them. get it?

    Are u dumb?

are you guys READING the article that i posted or are you just talking shit just to talk shit?

she DOESN'T have cancer. she only has the gene that is linked to breast and ovarian cancer. her getting a mastectomy doesn't make any sense because her having the gene that is linked to causing it doesn't mean that she's going to get it.

Why do you have to be so offensive in your posts? Everyday is that same old thing.
Anger, Anger, Ignorance. What's it to you anyway? You don't see anyone here making fun of your goofy hat do you? Don't waste your breath coming back me with some angry spew either. Go cuss at someone else who'll pay attention you.

    ignorance? icon_lol.gif are you serious?

people busy showing love to a celebrity that is known as an attention whore where they can't put two and two together. please don't tell me that i'm the only dude in here that can actually see through this shit.

okay, let me put it to you like this. let's say that you had the gene that caused cancer in the balls or the prostate. would you lose your ball or go through themo because of that? icon_question.gif

venue35 saidPazzy I really don't know what's wrong with you. You come off as hateful in most of your posts and threads. It's obvious that you have a lot of anger in you but thats not an excuse for your constant stupidity on these forums. Yeah sure Angelina Jolie is famous , beautiful and rich...but that doesn't make her less human than you or me. She's actually helped a lot of people out there a lot more than most Hollywood celebrities. She lost her mom to cancer and her mom was young. If you did your research you would have known this already and spared everyone here another one of your hateful remarks. You come off as a total jerk and worse you think you are super smart but youre not smart at all. I really don't know what else to say to you but you disgust me. If you were a woman and you had breast cancer you sure as hell wouldn't be making jokes about cutting off your "titties". I feel really bad for you.

    lmao. icon_rolleyes.gif

i feel sorry for you actually giving a fuck about a celebrity that is only using this as publicity. i guess i'm not naive like you are.

just because she has the gene that causes breast cancer doesn't mean that she's gonna get it.

There was like an 84% chance of her developing breast cancer. You tell me you wouldn't get a testicle removed if there was that high of a chance of testicular cancer?

simply because you have the gene doesn't mean that you'll suffer the same fate. plus she has money which is how she found out that she had the gene in the first place.

the thing that annoyed me is how she's acting like she's contributing to society from what she did when most people in the world for that matter wouldn't be able to get access to that shit to begin with. she admitted that in her little new york times essay.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/14/opinion/my-medical-choice.html

angelina jolieBreast cancer alone kills some 458,000 people each year, according to the World Health Organization, mainly in low- and middle-income countries. It has got to be a priority to ensure that more women can access gene testing and lifesaving preventive treatment, whatever their means and background, wherever they live. The cost of testing for BRCA1 and BRCA2, at more than $3,000 in the United States, remains an obstacle for many women.

i just feel that what she did was actually more harm than good as people will be miseducated. she's really just using this as a ploy for attention which i think is really sad and shameful.

Double mastectomy for one who is BRCA1 positive, with a strong family history is neither a joke nor a publicity stunt. Cheers to her.

My step-sons maternal grandmother lost both of hers sisters and mother to breast cancer. She made that tough decision and had the double masectomy. She didn't have it but didn't want to risk it. This serious shit and one of the toughest decisions a woman can make. The more public awareness the more women are going to find the strength to do it. And yes Pazzy, Angelina is wonderful example of woman known for her beauty among other things. She does have a voice and its a shame that she is being mocked. She has earned her standing as an ambassador doing more than share for the world. So what if she is a "celebrity", she still has a voice and is willing to use it. And not surprisingly, her announcement is being heard and taken to heart. Almost all of us have lost someone to breast cancer and most times more than one. It saddens me that they possibly could avoided death if they had done this. Your attitude is insulting the memory of loved ones all for your disdain of a brave woman. And who gives a shit if its a publicity stunt since it very well may save lives. I lost Jeanette Bundrum who was a second mother to me. She had gotten breast cancer in one breast which she lost. She had a chance to remove the other but chose not to because it would make her feel even less like a woman. I wish she had because 5 years after beating cancer, she got cancer in her remaining breast.. sadly she didn't win that second battle. This topic needs to be made public. Pazzy, who have you lost to breast cancer?

What she has done is great and very brave, it is just sad that it takes a celebrity
to convince women to have the procedure, they should do it for their families and themselves. The fact that Angelina Jolie is using her status to bring awareness and courage is an admirable thing.

Pazzy, you have some serious issues that you need to deal with.

I think your attitude regarding the choice of a woman to speak about something that others would not be so quick to discuss is sad and shameful.

venue35 saidYeah I read about it today...very brave of her. My mom died two years ago from breast cancer and I believe she may have lived if she had Done a masectomy. She didn't want to go through with a mastectomy because she felt that she wouldn't be the same after and that she would no longer be a woman.
I wish she had gone through with it. Reading about Angelina Jolie has made me really depressed today. I wish my mom had done what she did. She just couldn't do it.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I can see how this procedure could potentially be any woman's nightmare. Yet, it was your mom's decision, and if she felt like not having a mastectomy was the right one, you should honor that and just cherish your joys together icon_smile.gif Anyway, I am sure that it's easier said than done. We as human always love to dwell on 'what ifs'.

A.J. has to be one of the coolest people on earth - upon diagnosis she probably said "Just cut the fuckers off, I have kids to adopt and ass to kick!" She'll be a great role model for any women even considering hesitating.

once again, i stand by what i said. you dudes sound very naive and guillible. then again, most of you guys biggest attribute is your appearance and not your brains. hint the reason why dudes in here seem to take more pride in how they look than what they say. i'm not apologizing for using my brain. please use yours then get back at me where we can have a real discussion instead of this sorry ass shit. i've never seen a bunch of easily guillible people on the internet in my life. NEVER. i've been to plenty of internet forums and i've never seen a bunch of people this shallow, guillible and for that matter, dumb. apparently, intelligence is not valued on this forum. icon_lol.gif

ya are giving gay men a bad name right now. it seems like i'm the ONLY guy in here that bothered to research or look up the facts of the story BEFORE i spoke on it. most of you dudes are just going by what you heard and etc. need i say more? i'm sorry to hear about you guys losing your loved ones to breast cancer but this is something entirely different.

we have a rich celebrity who is KNOWN and NOTORIOUS for doing shit for attention. once again, look it up. angelina jolie actually has a public relations team whose job is to keep her relevant. breast cancer is a sensitive subject. i feel that what she did is a slap in the face to all the people outthere that really have that shit as i know a few that do NOT have access or resources like SHE does. the average american citizen cannot GET access to the care she does. from what i read yesterday, there's only ONE spot in the united states that even does that gene identification shit to begin with. it's a fairly new process not even available to the public. it's more of her rubbing the fact that she has money in the face of us people such as myself that cannot afford or do not have health insurance or access to health care. she isn't HELPING me nor is she helping the people that i know or knew with cancer and etc. she isn't helping us. the fact that she would chop off her titties then turn around and say that "i'm doing it for the people" is ridiculous. it's going to an unnecessary extreme and her saying that she took about a 3 months to decide whether she should "reveal" her information just some bullshit. if she wants to do something for "the people", as what someone suggested yesterday on another site's comment section, why doesn't she give her money to a fund to HELP make this expensive and inaccessible form of treatment available to the public? why doesn't she help encourage free health care and the medical field to cut out it's bullshit where it's putting DOLLARS over people's lives? the obamacare is NOT enough. with as much taxes that is being paid in this country and dwindled away on bullshit, we SHOULD have universal health care. in fact, we're the ONLY developed country where there's NO universal health care. the health of the people is seen as something to capitalize on. the fact that she would stoop so low for attention is shameful. i'm also surprised that NONE of you mentioned that her having a double mastectomy doesn't even mean anything in terms of preventing cancer. she could still develop cancer.

and it's shameful to see how you guys are quick to big up this woman then insult me and all these other people that are skeptical towards what she did. she is NOT a damn hero. breast cancer survivors are heroes. people that chose to fight cancer are heroes. the ones that fought cancer and lost their lives are heroes. those are the people that deserve the word BRAVE and our damn kudos. not angelina jolie. shame on her for using a fucking touchy subject as a means to promote herself damn well knowing that most women on the planet earth WILL NOT receive the same opportunity she has and basically miseducating the public.
