all i gotta say is damn it was epic....
not to mention i now have a new crush....Benedict Cumberbatch who plays the character.."Khan"...sexiest villain ever. and it has nothing to do with his looks. if you hear him speak...you will know why.his voice is sexy. damn.i might go see it again.

DAMM-you shoulda put in SPOILER ALERT.

Anyway, I also just saw the movie, and thought it was EXCELLENT, even better than the first one(reboot, that is)

I enjoyed how JJ takes elements from the Star Trek movies and reworks them.

    SPOILER ALERT!!!

Definitely watch Star Trek-The Wrath of Khan to appreciate all the references to that movie.

The emotional scenes were VERY well done-truly touching. And there are plenty of current event references.
I saw it on IMAX 3D and enjoyed the extra depth and dimension.

The movie is non stop action, lots of fast dialogue, and many witty, funny lines.

Excellent,Excellent! I think the Star Trek AND Star Wars franchises are in good hands!

The movie was alright I wanted to know more about Khan and his back story. I also didn't like the story line. I would not watch it again but I will say people should watch because it's Star Trek and well I love it so yea. I wonder what other directors would have done with this movie because I don't like J.J's interpretation.

saw it yesterday morning. ( a mile stone of sorts for me as it was the first movie i have seen since cancer treatment ended in september! ) i really enjoyed it. the new 'dress uniforms' take some getting used to, but hey, JJ is taking this franchise to a whole different level. the bridge sound effects are even better than last time, and enjoyed the reboot of the klingons. seeing 23rd century earth was a treat as well. and i LOVED the ground transportation!!
all in all, i liked it. cannot wait to see it again and add the dvd to my collection.

I saw it last night with my husband! This movie was awesome. Abrams put so much despair into it to build up the characters and it totally paid off. The ship designs and sets were fantastic. They were throwbacks while still being more modernized. The costumes were insane, INSANE, the Admirals uniforms, the new dress uniforms... the throwback on-duty uniforms.... . I loved everything about this movie. The emotional elements were tops and each character had a decent amount of time to shine.

ONE complaint, more Uhura! She could have been a little more front and center!

I couldn't take my eyes off Chris Pine, this guy really is a great actor!

I think the movie was great. The story was decent. The acting was decent. A few times the lines and acting were over the top - slapstick references to the OST movies don't have to be soooo obvious. The audience is more in touch than the screenwriters give us credit.

Overall, worthy of a second watch.

Do not see it in IMAX 3D. The motion is really jittery and the 3D adds nothing to the storyline - and there's no action that is enhanced by being in 3D.

If I could have seen the film without the glasses, I would have. The 3D really rendered it a much poorer viewing experience than the first one. I guess I do have to watch it again. Chris Pine, here I come...

    No spoiler alerts here.

Benedict Cumberbatch isn't named CUMberBATCH for nothing. I had to watch the movie twice because my hardon kept distracting my attention the first time I watched it every moment that he was on screen.

And Chris Pine, Karl Urban and Zach Quinto? O M F G

HOT men; awesome, continuous action. This Star Trek instance ROCKED!

I absolutely loved the movie. Definitely is in competition to being one of my favorite movies of the last decade up there with Avatar and Battleship *swoon*. Can't wait to see it another 3 or 12 times icon_smile.gif

remember, it's a reboot of the original. though slightly tweaked, the klingons resemble the species we've come to know, head ridges and all. the romulans in the first movie were tweaked as well. when JJ got the honor of making the first movie, one thing his staff (many devout trekkers) told him was ''do not mess with the overall design of the federation ships, especially the ENTERPRISE. the shape is an icon to be sure. over time, we will embrace these changes too. one thing i really loved about the movie was the design for the warp core. of course, seeing more of 23rd century earth was a real bonus too. cannot wait to see it again.

Khan from "Space Seed, 1967" From Star Trek: the Original Series

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT2pZV7guil8u5weU1DE2x

Khan from "Star Trek ll: The Wrath Of Khan 1982"

Same actor Ricardo Montalban he did a good job as Khan, Benedict Cumberbatch has done a good job too. I just didn't like the story 1982 or the new film.

I have yet to watch the movie but Cumberbatch has already given some great performances in BBC TV series Sherlock. Go watch it, if you haven't yet.

Saw it last night, absolutley fantastic!! Chris Pine looked even hotter this time, if that's even possible. Continuous action from start to finish, liked the costumes. I'm still amazed at how much Zachary Quinto looks like a young Leonard Nimoy, talk about perfect casting!

When I first saw him in Star Trek last evening I recognized Benedict Cumberbatch as the actor who played Sherlock Holmes in the recent British TV series "Sherlock" that had been on PBS a year or so ago.

I was a bit annoyed this morning when I clicked on this thread and saw the big spoiler in the first post. But I just got back from seeing the film and WOWZA!

I'm not usually one to gush over summer movies, and I rarely if ever go see a "blockbuster" on opening weekend, but I LOVED it. Knowing the spoiler didn't take my enjoyment down at all. I could very easily go back and see it again. Loved all the references back to Wrath of Khan (easily the best of the original ST movies).
