I am using this for another excuse to travel, I will spend time with my parents and a brothers up in Michigan. We are hoping to be celebrating Obama's victory, and an end to the bush tragedy.

There will be a party at my home with about a dozen friends. It should be fun. Will order pizza. Hopefully it will be a grand celebration on all levels.

I'm going to curl up in the fetal position if it's not over by the time the polls close Central Standard Time. Obama should have the minimun 270 electoral votes by then, but if he doesn't that means I have to wait for the West to make up for the what the rest of America couldn't do.

I've voted, now I just want this to be over and done with.

Curled up on my couch with a bottle of wine, a great big pizza, and perhaps a Valium or two

I'm prepared for the worst, but still expecting (well, okay, praying for) a shocker!

Regardless of the results, on November 5th, I hope this country will begin to heal and come together

I will start watching the coverage on ABC or PBS around 8 and stay up until 10:30 PM. Hopefully by that time it will be decided. I would hate to think of a repeat of 2000 when I went to bed thinking Al Gore had won, then woke up to find out that Florida had been "won" by George Bush.

If it's bad - I've got sleeping pills.

If it's good - I've got a bottle of locally made Obama Champagne to pop and rock!

Well I'm not praying for an Obama win that's for sure. OF COURSE I am praying for a McCain win, and proud of it. That said, I am ready, willing, and able to accept an Obama win as well as support an Obama presidency should it come to that.

Why do you say of course for Macaine? WOW

I still don't get how any thinking person could vote for him let alone a GAY man!

I see that some gay repubs say that they think Macain would be better for the country or would keep us safer but I TOTALLY disagree on all fronts!

Well, I don't have regular television channels or cable, so I will probably be staring intently at online results as they update until my boyfriend gets home from work, then i'll enjoy some nightly snuggle time before fall asleep and hoping for the best. As this point though, I'm confident in a good turn out for the fighting blue states. Even if you give McCain every single state that he is losing by less than 6% points in on average across the board, he still loses the election to Obama, and despite the fact that polls are far from being an exact science, that's still some strong imagery right there

WOW, OK then WHAT are your rational reasons for this?
And do you REALLY like Sarah Palin and would you be OK with HER being the pres?

I'll be with an intimate group of, oh say, 300,000, experiencing true history as we know it will be . . . the dawning of a new age - where national and global healing combined with a directional course change will produce a better quality of life for everyone.

Well, if you insist, but I think we've been over this like a dozen or so times over the past several months, but...

1) I feel that John McCain, maybe more than any candidate in my lifetime, actually has paid the dues and earned the honor to be our President. He doesn't just talk the talk, he has walked the walk, and in my world that stands for a hell of a lot.

2) I sincerely believe that John McCain's experience makes him more prepared and eminently more qualified to be leader of The Free World. I see no evidence that Obama has been all that impressive of a U.S, Senator, so why would I think he'd be a good President? Let him pay some real dues in the U.S. Senate and run again in say 2016 when he actually has a real record to run on and America knows more about who he REALLY is and what he REALLY stands for.

3) I trust John McCain, I do not trust Barrack Obama.

I could go on but, frankly, I don't think I really need any other reasons than the above mentioned to justify why I am voting for Senator John McCain.

As for whether or not I would be okay with Sarah Palin being President...why wouldn't I be? I'm suppose to be okay with Senator Obama being President who has even less experience, and no executive experience, but for some odd reason I am suppose to deem Governor Sarah Palin not worthy? Sorry, but I don't buy into that. If, God Forbid, anything were to happen to a President McCain, I have no problem with Sarah Palin as President. In fact, I suspect that it would even be a good thing on all kinds of levels. She will surround herself with the most qualified people in the country to help her, as any President needs to do, and I think it would be refreshing to say the least.

^--- This, though substitute my wine for beer and Valium with a security blanket. Or I'll just attempt blissful ignorance until the whole mess is settled. After which, I start the timer before Obama has the first attempt on his life for daring to be a black president.

To Curiousjock from Arizona (hmmmm John McCain's home state)

Thank you for spelling out your reasons for voting republican.
I suspect you have always gone that way and I respectfully disagree and challenge all those reasons. On the other hand, you DO like volleyball

By the way, I was raised in a Republican family and out of the 4 children, two vote Republican (just follow the party line) and the other two watch carefully and chose accordingly... I have voted for one Rebub for Pres but this one is a very clear choice, OBAMA/BIDEN.

Cannot. Wait. For next Tuesday.

So, I'm in Chicago...

Going to a friend's party for early election results, then heading down to Grant Park for the Obamarama. 1M+ expected... I think it's going to be a lot bigger than that, though. Everyone I know is heading down there that night.

I will be watching in my apartment. Maybe drinking, that might add some interest. I hope the outcome comes the way I want but I will not be crazy upset either way. I will just be happy the political ads will stop. I live in the state with one of the dirtiest and most publicized Senate races this year between Jeff Merkley and Gordon Smith. I can't wait for the mudslinging to stop, this is a damn dirty race and it is getting tiresome. If you can't be nice just shut up that is how I feel. As my mother use to say "If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all." I want these politicians to take these words to heart.
