Not a huge country fan, but I can't stop listening to Florida Georgia Line recently. It is rare that I find an album I can listen to the whole way through. I like Rascal Flatts too. I guess I like “mainstream/crossover" country? I really like Alan Jackson's “Chattahoochee" though...a little older of a song, but fun.

What this generation calls country music actually is Half rap and Half crap with a bowl of corn beef hash.

Until someone mentioned Loretta, there was no country music in this thread (maybe Brad P on a good day). Go listen to some George Jones, Merle Haggard, or Johnny Cash and then compare it to 99% of the drivel that tries to pass as country today. You'll be ashamed . . .

and don't even get me started on Taylor Swift.

Josh Turner is probably my favorite of the more modern ones, but Brantley Gilbert, Luke Bryan, and Chris Young are pretty good as well. Gretchen Wilson actually has some pretty good pipes too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxuP_jIZAhg

For an older crowd of performers Clint Black, Clay Walker, Reba, Patsy Cline (some might debate if she is actually country, but she totally is), George Jones, George Straight, and Alan Jackson are all great.

I love this song.... It's a little bit country, a little bit.... awesome~!

Alison Krauss & Robert Plant ~ Please Read the Letter

But even more, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Eddy Arnold, Tom T. Hall,

    Hank Williams ~ Jambalaya

I like most everything from the 90's as well, before it got too pop-like. But there's nothing like the older stuff. When country music was actually country music!!!!!

All time? George Strait. I do like Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and Zac Brown.

Has anyone listened to the song Lightning? That song screws with me every time. High creepy factor.
