Hate to break the news to you, but depending on your employer, and whether you have work in a field requiring State licensing, you may be facing periodic "professional development" courses forever, whether in-house or accredited.

Did the school thing earlier in life. Went back in my 30s and now I'm at it again in my 50s. My fave uncle stayed in school until he died and even throughout most of mom's Alzheimer's into her 70s she attended university lectures.

Once she could no longer drive herself, I signed up her aid so they could both attend school. On our first day there together, when I brought them to the university Lifelong Learning Center's auditorium so the aid would know where to bring my mom, it just so happened that right where we sat down at random in a sea of seats to talk and orient ourselves happened to be directly--not even a seat over--but directly behind the seats with plaques on their backs dedicated to the memory of mom's beloved dead from years before when she'd donated to the facility.

I would imagine you'll need continuing education to keep up your licensure. Don't stop there. You'd be surprised what continuing education can make you wonder.

Another term is "continuing education" the meaning varying among professions. Point is, the education required for certain fields doesn't stop with the degree.

    Hah.

    Hah hah.

You're a structural engineer and you think you've finished all your schooling?

There's a load of structural engineers that work in the same company as me, they've all got loads of licenses and certificates which they all had to take tests for which all required a load of studying beyond school. I've only had to take one so far but that's because I'm a geologist and we're lazy inebriated assholes.

It's never over. You'll have dreams about Calculus 13 and being late for class well into your forties.

I feel like answering this will distract everyone from the main topic of being done with school,,,,but anyway

    -no Winter

-ridiculous economic growth, (the aus dollar was .50 US 10 years ago, and now as parity)

    -western access to Asia

-I don’t like the United States of America particularly

-Universal health care ( since I don’t plan on being poor, that means I’d be a system donor rather than recipient) The last time I went to my dentist here in the US, they told me starting Jan,1 2013, they are no longer accepting ANY insurance,,,WTF IS THAT!?!!? Then when I asked around, apparently this is common in both the medical and dental industries. ,,,I can rant forever about this,,but the healthcare system in the US is generally fucked.

-Amazing job market, only western nation to not experience recession, (due to ties with asia)
