    I love Cracked.

I agree with all of their points except the last one - watching friends masturbate would be a major bonus icon_twisted.gif

    It just looks like shit.

We're entering in the golden age of gaming as most people are now going to be venturing into strictly PC gaming since the consoles are turning into watered down PC's.

No I really don't. All I know is you insult me constantly, and half the time I have no idea what you're talking about. This thread is about Xbox. If you don't like me then block me. But either way, stay on the subject.

I agree, but I just hate playing on a PC. Plus I love the feeling of the controller in my hands. And to be honest, I've always preferred PS over Xbox.

You can hook up either controller to most PC games nowadays which will make the consoles obsolete.

Yeah, I realized that right after I wrote that. But there is something about having a TV screen across the room from you with all the lights out, some chips and a cold drink and kicking back on the sofa getting lost in another world. Somehow playing on my laptop, even with a controller doesn't have the same feel.

You could also hook up a PC to your TV and use a wireless keyboard/mouse to navigate from across the room. That's actually the type of set-up I'm using right now. I was never into PC gaming when you had to sit at an uncomfortable desk, but now that I can access from my couch, I'm completely a PC gamer guy.

I actually have no problem with any of the features... particularly the one where you can't loan your games out to friends... Hopefully it'll hurt stores like Gamestop. Sorry personal vendetta against GS and people who are too cheap to buy brand new.

Ok so that's me buying a PS4 then. What a truly terrible way to promote the launch of your new console.

The console itself seems to be very restricting. I get that that Microsoft is trying to eliminate the used market for games, but the alleged second hand fees of $50.00 one has to pay to license the game on their console seem a bit ridiculous.

Depending how old the game is, or poor the sales are, the prices of games eventually depreciate by 35-40% from their original retail value. The question in hand is will the second hand fee match the affected price of a game at a brick and mortar store?

Eventually, copies of older games are harder to come by, given the fact that the brick and mortar stores likely stop receiving copies of them. Having a used market grants the consumer a higher chance to find copies of those game, at a depreciated priced that is certainly not at the $50.00 mark.

I honestly think that this practice is going to shoot Microsoft in the foot, regarding that the majority of its core audience is comprised of adolescent males. They likely don't have the means to purchase every desired game at $60, and rely on the used market to support their hobby by purchasing used games which are sold at a more reasonable price.

I'm thrilled to finally have solid reasons for hating XBox. I'm a huge Sony fan. I'm with Scruffy about there being something more enjoyable aboutconsole gaming. Are PCs better? Yes. Will consoles ever compare? Doubtful. Oh well.

Are you fucking serious? What the hell is wrong with buying previously owned games? Number one, it's greener to buy used games and number two, not everyone can afford to shell out that much dough on each and every game. Number three.....I love shopping for old games that I used to play for old times sake.

I've been a loyal PlayStation guy for years, and although I was open to switching to something better....looks like I'll be sticking with PlayStation. Apparently I'm not the only one.

Console makers need developers to invest millions in compelling new titles to sell hardware. Game prices have no reason to drop below $50 and publishers feel they don't get compensated when a game changes hands on the second-hand market. It discourages people from buying new games.

Publicly-held software companies like Electronic Arts are facing an explosion in game detail requiring specialized talent to generate it. Not to mention, EA has lost money over the past three quarters.

(I can't be accused of being a gamer, but I worked in Studio B in Redmond just long enough for the stress to get to me.)
