I saw this earlier in the week, and it saddens me how devious, hateful, and seemingly evil people can be, especially indoctrinating children with their intolerance, prejudice, and messages of exclusion.

I may write a picture book to combat this. Any good drawers put there? icon_smile.gif

Ironic, the mixed race parenting couple featured in the book. This book would've caused a whole difference kind of backlash 30/40yrs ago byt exactly the same people who probably support it now. Oh, how quickly cultural acceptance develops.

Is it possible to ban these kind of books in USA?
Coz this book not only spreads false ideas but also hatred towards specific groups & communities.

At the end, it doesn't matter...because only truth wins at the end.

    i hope you're not serious.

of course i don't like this kind of message, but censorship? now there's something to demonize.

    That's what I just said...'it doesn't matter'
but it's oriented for kids...so, it's better to censor...I think.

    We don't censor things here.

    Yes, I know...
what I mean is, it's oriented for kids, but the content is very rude and inappropriate...
Just like the adult movies are not for kids...these books should not be for kids at least...
Perhaps it would have made more sense if I used the word 'Restricted' instead of 'Censor'
    Sorry, 2nd language issues.

    That's so horrible.
Regardless of what you are think of the bible (I'm not a thumper) somewhere in there someone says the only good thing about evil is that it brings out a greater amount of good (something like that). What I mean is that this one anti-gay idea has made many more pro-gay straight people voice their support.

I wonder if it was God's plan for the blood of millions to be shed throughout history in wars started in his name. Religion is the single most destructive invention ever created by mankind.

Nothing against you RSF but we just had this thread last month somewhere. Many acts of science are responsible for evil too. Hitler's genocide was inspired by Darwinian Evolution. If people want a reason to do evil, they find it.

We do in the sense that we control age-appropriate content. Whether in books, or movies, TV, video games (all with ratings systems), adult magazines, etc. Now if graphic violence can be age inappropriate, can hate & prejudice also be? What about political indoctrination of the very young?

Did I say that acts of science weren't responsible for evil as well? Hitler's genocide was partially inspired by Darwinian Evolution, but an irrational hatred for Jews (whom he blamed for Germany's plight after World War I) was what started the initial hostilities within the country. The Holocaust didn't start until many years later, and even then, Jews were the primary target. While I agree that people will do evil when and if they want to, religion is often the primary motivation behind starting wars, terrorist attacks, slavery, genocide, acts of violence against minorities, etc. My primary point is that religion has created more death, destruction, and discriminatory practices than any scientific theory/finding or technological advance combined. In fact, it's not even close.

Additionally, I'm not really sure what last month's thread has to do with my response. It's not as if we're discussing findings from individual research projects on cold fusion. It's not like those discussions have any real meaning on this thread. Regardless of the consensus of last month's thread, I'm expressing my opinion here, right now.

They disabled the comments and ratings on youtube cuz this thing had 21 thumbs up and over 2000 thumbs down by the time the rating system was disabled. The book also has 1 star ratings all over amazon, there are a few people that rated it a 5 star...but for completely different reasons lol. They're fun to read:

5 STARSThis book is an excellent example of religious tolerance. The Father and Mother are an inter-racial couple who have produced a blue-eyed blond son. Clearly the mother has been exploring "other activities", but the Father shows supreme tolerance in not smiting her down, with righteous rage, like the whore she so obviously is. Should have been called "My mother sleeps around, but daddy doesn't know (anything about genetics)"

5 STARSThis book is a lifesaver. I was sitting on the toilet one day, thinking about god, and when I was finished, I noticed I was out of toilet paper. I was a nervous wreck so I started praying that the the lord would come to my rescue. When I was finished, I looked on the shelf and found this book. God works in mysterious ways. He never lets me down. The pages are very soft and absorbent. I had plenty of pages left, so I saved the rest for Mexican food night.

5 STARSI have finally found the perfect book for my kids and grandkids!! I've been stressing over how to teach them intolerance and hate and this lovely little book seems to be just the ticket!! I can teach them how to bully their friends as well...what a bonus! If you're looking for a book to make The Big Man Upstairs ashamed to know ya...this is the one!!! It starts the hatred at an early age and instills ignorance and bigotry to boot!!! Fabulous little book. Not.

5 STARTSI was having difficulty trying to light the bonfire one night... Then I remembered that a lady from church gave me this book to read to my daughter. What a life saver! This thing burnt for a good 5 minutes and got that fire going strong! Great cover! Great paper quality! Great alternative to fire logs!

5 STARSI know we all worry that our children don't hate enough - or don't feel sufficiently superior to be pompous and rude to their little classmates. Thank the Lord we now have this book to teach them that God wants them to smugly put down their friends' families. Glory! "God Made Dad & Mom [& Step-Moms 1 through 4]" is worth it for the cover illustration alone: It reminds mixed-race tots that even if your father is black, the Lord wants you to be a blond, blue-eyed Caucasian. A "Bringing Integrity To Christian Homemakers" Book Club selection for June 2013!

5 STARSMy partner and I recently adopted two children and we were worried that they would grow up thinking that having two dads was perfectly normal and acceptable in today's society. Luckily, we discovered this gem of a book that will make it easier for us to teach them that the love and relationship their parents share is a horrid abomination in the sight of God, and that if they really wanted a normal family that ISN'T going to hell, they should have gotten themselves adopted by a nice heterosexual couple, like the one so beautifully illustrated in this book. After we read it to them a few dozen times, they will come to realize that the hate and derision directed at them and their parents by peers is completely justified and they will just have to live with it. Thanks to the creators of this book for making it easier to teach this harsh truth to our kids.

CLARIFICATION: I am not actually gay nor do I have two adopted kids, that is made up. All of the above is meant in sarcasm. Same-sex couples and their children do have my support (as do loving parents and kids of all kinds) and this book is a vile piece of trash.

3 starsI see a few people rated this book 5 stars and much much more rated it 1 star. I just felt like the 3 star rating was feeling a bit lonely. Oh ya, book is a pile of crap BTW.

My Amazon review, titled "Who made Jimmy's Dads?"

A hate- and fear-filled book, and frankly, Michael sounds like a self-righteous little prig. Blessed are the peace makers. This book does nothing but sow smug superiority and encourage distrust and hatred. Should be banned.

God also made Jimmy’s two dads! And may He shield Jimmy from Michael’s bigotry.
