Anyone else having issues with the search function? RJ forwards itself to a "no results found" screen anytime I hit enter while typing in the body of a forum message or email.

Yeah, that's been happening to me, too. It's seriously annoying.

If this sentence is the start of a new paragraph, it means that the HTML paragraph tag works: <P>

Sorry about that. We forgot to hook up the new search to the enter key. I just pushed a fix. Let us know if you have any more problems with it.

    Thanks,

how about going back to the old search?!?

and in the forum, list the messages in order of most recently updated instead. Sometimes it's almost impossible to see which ones have been replied to and which ones are old threads...

The site seems to be undergoing updates with regards to the search functions. Please give the updating and the RealJock administrators some time to work through the system's kinks and fix any potential temporary issues this brings about (and bring any you encounter to their attention, as requested above). ^_^

Thank you Nick. We appreciate it.

Duckling - there's a Sort By pull-down at the top of every page of forums. Choose "Last Post" to see which forums have been most recently updated.

The problem seems to have been resolved, at least for me.

The main benefit I'm seeing is that you can crosslink searches that you couldn't before; e.g., who is on my buddy list in Vancouver?

Being able to save frequently-used searches (complete with your preferred sorting option) is also handy.

I'm curious as to what happened to the option to search by member name. I always use it to look people up that randomly IM me, but I don't see it anymore. Am I missing something?

    Hey guys.

    A couple of updates:

    1. Chewey - We had to temporarily take out the member name search due to some performance issues; it should go live again by Monday at the latest. In the interim, you can use the Search site box at the top right of the site as a workaround.

    2. We just put Saved Searches in the Advanced Search as well. We're still completing testing on it, so please report any additional problems you find and we'll try to fix them.

Thanks for bearing with us while we work out the kinks.

    Jeff

Also, if search isn't working for you, try clearing out your browser cache, then quit and restart your browser. Instructions for clearing your cache can be found below:

    * Internet Explorer: Open the IE browser, click on Tools menu, then choose Internet Options. Press Delete files button on the General tab.
    * Firefox: Open the Firefox browser, click on Tools, then choose Privacy menu, then Cache tab. Press the Clear Cache button.
    * Safari: Open a Safari browser, click on Safari menu, then Empty Cache.

This shouldn't be necessary for most of you.

The other issue is that when I sign out and leave the RJ page up, it no longer "remembers" my login. I have to retype my handle in.

In the past, when I did that, at least I wouldn't have to retype my login.

Yep, me too. The "remember me" box doesn't keep me logged in anymore.
