Perhaps a little too general on some points, but worth reading. Freedomisntfree will enjoy it! (And you're welcome to! icon_biggrin.gif)

But I do want to say that as long as the Palins and the Becks and right-wingers of their kidney go on spouting, the left will have at least some reason to be rude.

Karl Popper showed how a country needs vigorous, intelligent opposition - it's that friction that provides both the energy and the adaptability that a strong country needs. At the moment, I fear much is missing on both sides. But then I hear Palin or Bachmann or Beck or Rush...

But now I'll shut up. Liberals ought to read the article, and think.

why are conservatives rood to democrats? look at the hate and phobia a large fraction of them have against minorities or whatever's different. I'm not trying to fight fire with fire or debate but a lot of them don't have good attitudes or intentions and I am not willing to accept their will (of a lot of them) of getting rid of me or a lot of people for whatever phobic reason they have. But I know there's bigotry and phobia's in liberals, the middle or anywhere and I am not limiting it to conservatives.

It's hard to be nice to the people who spread hatred.

When someone argues that certain groups are not deserving of equality and human rights, that is every bit as offensive as being called a rude name. I'm not going to be tolerant of intolerance and I'm not going to be pleasant about it.

    I agree.

However...I can't help but feel that ANY sort of connection to the party - even a belief in small government and fiscal conservatism but a disdain for the utter idiocy of completely pandering to that "traditional values" crowd - also earns you ridicule.

But in truth, both sides do it. And at one point it was Democrats who were the ones spreading hatred.

The right sees the left as mistaken. The left sees the right as EVIL. That is why I'm hated more than an islamic terrorist. Who, by the way, would cut our heads off with a rusty knife with a smile on his face, simply for being gay. That is why someone like me who doesn't tow the standard liberal agenda gets viciously attacked every time I say something. Even if I have a liberal opinion, like wanting gay marriage, it's never enough. It's emotions, anger, childishness/rebelliousness, and godlessness.

    Let the indignation festival begin.

One of the reasons the majority of the country finds conservatives annoying is because they constantly whine about what victims they are -- much like babies. They are also complete hypocrites. Both of these are demonstrated above.

Visit a website like stormfront, redstate, Hot Air, or freerepublic and read the comments section. The pure, unadulterated hatred directed towards Obama and his family, the Clintons, blacks, gays, Latinos, liberals, and Democrats is absolutely astonishing.

And then others refuse to put up with the vile, selfish, bigoted behavior of the Republicans and their ilk -- they want to whine about how mistreated they are. It's a joke.

My grandma used to say "You get back what you put out." Maybe that's why Republicans get their hatred boomeranged back to them. #sorrynotsorry

Gotta love the continued inability of right-wingers to address the substance of the truth of matter, and instead argue about your semantics.

Confronted with facts they are unable to refutre, Republicans will attack you instead -- to change the subject from their hatred and hypocrisy to you "projecting" or whatever other nonsense they come up with.

Don't fall for it: the point in question was a questionable assertion that Republican do not direct "evil" hatred towards liberals. This is obviously false -- a visit to any right-wing blog with confirm the falsity of the assertion. Blakes7 thought he could pass off this double-standard here -- which makes him a hypocrite -- and use the lie to play the victim of "evil" liberals -- which makes him a whiny hypocrite.

Of course I'm not projecting: I'm not the one whining about how mean conservatives are; I just point out the fact of their meanness. I am more concerned with how conservatives are so constantly wrong, than with them being nice while they are wrong.

It is precisely these kind of silly rhetorical games that have made the Republicans as unpopular as they now are.

In this case, a cop-out, curiously offered with no evidence.

Both parties have flaws, but to suggest those flaws are the same has no basis in reality -- it's just a cliche' that people like to say to avoid taking strong positions. The Republican and Democratic Party platforms are online for anyone to see -- one is a mostly reasonable governing document and the other looks like it could have been written by the KKK in collaboration with Herbert Hoover's 1927 cabinet.

I think he's saying that you can't handle the gut reactions of people who see your wrongs, the latest one being scape goating gays to stall immigration reform. Republicans sew hate every step of the way, on every issue, from inequality, to climate change. Troy is right. Your party reaps what it sews... I think America is facing dark times. Hopefully, that means we are at the dawn of a new era. Republicans need to get into the 21st century and decide to join us there.

Misandry saidUgly and all but this country was heavily conservative for long time among the population. And it still is.
I would have to agree with liberals toning down or perhaps containing that e-rage to tumblr and KYM.

The e rage has to come out somewhere. But I too have noticed it. It's like the parties enjoyed a long, tumultuous but fruitful marriage, and now suddenly we have irreconcilable differences. Only we must work them out.

    I dunno about the UK
    but here? Let's see
Maybe it's because we've had thirty years of republican led economics here in this country that has led to a bubble economy that burst and nearly took down the world's economy as a whole
Maybe it's because deregulation mania has come to point where corporations pay less taxes than a janitor at Costco and they have States and Countries giving give backs that take the food out of their constituent's mouths
Or How about the last administration that lied us into the longest Wars in our country's history that was put on the tax payer's backs and resulted in the deaths of over 4000 Americans Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's and the displacement of millions
Then there was that little thing about the not keeping their eye on the Terrorist briefings that led to people throwing themselves from a burning tower in Manhattan
    The sacking of FEMA
    The Bush Tax Cuts
    Medicare D
The Downgrading of our government because they wouldn't pay for what they owed
    The filibustering of EVERYTHING
    The sequester

If the republicans were a foreign power we would have declared war years ago
based on the damage that they've done

Conservatives and Republicans want a dictatorship where their government controls everything, with zero opposition allowed. Sounds a lot like Communism, doesn't it ?
