Any obsession that interferes with normal socialization & functioning is a problem. If all a guy does is porn, and never the real thing, and doesn't go out to meet people, then that's an unhealthy obsession.

But porn as an occasional sexual stimulant is perfectly normal & healthy.

A quick anecdote: I tricked a few times with this guy, and the first time at his place he started a porno tape, assuming it would excite me. Only problem was, he picked one with a military theme, since he knew I was a retired Army Colonel.

Thoughtful gesture, but bad choice. The tape was so amateurish that all I could focus on was all the errors in how they were portraying these alleged Army guys. Wrong haircuts, wrong uniforms, wrong setting, wrong circumstances.

No doubt as much my issue as his, but all I needed to see was a swollen cock in a sucking mouth, and a bucking butt against a probing prick. I like my porn plain & simple, without any window dressing.

If you can jerk off and have sex with a nut busting orgasm without porn then you are doing alright. If you are missing work because you are half way into a porn odyssey then you have a problem.

    Everything in moderation.

I think porn makes my expectations too high. I'm always looking for perfect guys, but in Iowa City they're just not around.

In normal usage nut-busting would be hyphenated.

For a while I had a real problem with watching too much porn, I would look at it every chance I got and sometimes let it interfere with my studies and whatnot. I have since learned that it is pointless to look at porn. Not to say that i don't use it as a material for helping me get off, but at the same time it really ruins a man's perception of the reality of sex. Hardly ever are things going to be so ideal as they are in porn (my first time was an exception), and people need to learn that if they ever wanted to be satisfied with their sexual partners.

I'm with the porn in Moderation. I use it occaisionally and I do like it. I've watched it / looked at it since I was 8. But I can go without it no problem at all.

If it is all you think about all day and takes away from your normal day then it can be problematic. Also if it is required to get off I would see it as a problem. Basically I see it the same as any other things that have addictive properties like alchol. If you can use it in moderation and it does not effect you in adverse ways then no problem.

Luckily for me I don't see it as an addiction and I don't have problems with it. It seems my only addiction I really have that is not under control is the Internet. I guess it's a good thing I work in computers.icon_rolleyes.gif

    Agreed.

Munching, I would have thought you'd have your terminology locked down by now, seeing as you're the guy who writes descriptive copy for the back of the porno boxes. icon_wink.gif

I have always found real sex with a guy I care about much better than most porn sex. Porn sex often looks mechanical. Now the quality of the men's physique is another story. icon_wink.gif

A little bit of porn is good for dealing with the Coolidge Effect (see below).

I check the porn sites like once in a month .. and I don't like the way they make the movies ..
    it's like :
-oh , we accidently met .. I'm gonna try to seduce you with my eyes... now the director asked me to kiss you ..
    - Ya I know now I'm gonna grab you ass ..

It's so bad that it makes me want to direct such a film but in better quality and storyline ..lol

Yes I think it's bad sometimes .. when too much of it can make you rather it than a real sex .. cuz it looks too perfect and more amusing when you watch it ..

That's Eric Rhodes. He's a regular guest on the Derrick and Romaine show (sirius radio).

If your not in a relationship, there's nothing wrong with it. It's a suitable substitute. If you don't like it, don't watch it.
It isn't the same as a relationship. If you've never had a relationship or slept with someone, it's not good as an example any more than it is a treatise on how to act.
Like anything else, moderation is the key.

Its quite hidden in this photo but he´s got a big un down there.

    To answer the question:

Porn is one reason I come in a bit late to work in the morning. So yes, it is bad for work. Could also be a reason I have no social life, harhar. Someone save me!

It's only bad if you you let porn influence how you behave intimately in real life.

    To whit:

o Kissing like you're going to swallow someone's face.

o Kissing like a St. Bernard, with a big slobbering tongue.

o Saying moronic things like "Oh yeah baby, fuck me! Fuck me harder!" and "You like this big dick, huh? You like this? Yeah, suck this dick."

o Going at sex like some pre-programmed robot that must complete each of the following steps, or FAIL: light kiss, face-eating kiss, tug on the dick like you're trying to uproot a tree stump, gobble the dick, rim the ass, insert from behind while standing, then doggie style, then on the back with feet in the air, then cum on the chest, then final St. Bernard face-washing "kisses."

And yes, I've been confronted with all of this behavior, which causes me to immediately put my clothes back on and lament the influence that porn is having on our sensitive little gay minds.

That's the kinda thing I had in mind (even though you're only joking). Perhaps it gets in the way of relationships.....

Well, sexy is obviously a very individual thing, thank goodness.

But can you just not say that when we have sex, Northern?

    Thanks.
