I'm not old enough to remember him.
Is anyone going to celebrate on June 5?

He's dead. And, looks like his political brand is starting to finally die too.

    Just like "Peronism".

I do. A man who stands up and speaks his mind, inspiring confidence in the people, a real leader with a clear vision. Was he perfect? Of course not. But much better than anything we've had since.

Ummm... that would also describe Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Marshall Tito, the various North Korean Kims, and all the other dictators of the modern era.

I think your model is flawed. Can you give us one that comports with democratic ideals, and the US Constitution?

You would compare Ronald Reagan to those evil, brutal dictators?

I never watched any of his movies. I have heard good things about Bedtime for Bonzo. Mediocre actor, not sure what he did after he retired from pretending to be other people.

The man who in the midst of the height of the AIDS epidemic never said the word?
The man who is responsible for the economic mania of every man for himself and had set the terms for the next 30 years in deregulation and corporation welfare?

    Uh .... no icon_rolleyes.gif

There's nothing fascist about RR, he was conservative through and through.

Projecting again. Congress is the only government entity that can regulate or deregulate, and create or remove tax loopholes. And congress in the 80s was almost all democrat controlled. For decades.
And I don't think RR was out at night spreading AIDS. I know that's a sore spot with a lot of gay men who were around back then, I was a kid in those days. But he wasn't God, he couldn't cure it. FDR didn't cure Polio, does anyone complain that he never talked about it?

Oh my sweet misguided Ronnie lover
    let's see where to begin
The Hollywood actor turned Washington actor said and I quite
"The scariest words you can hear is I'm from the Government and I'm here to help"
    That's from the horses mouth
    That said
Now... you are TRYING to say that it was the Democrats agenda to foist our sorry state of deregulation on America?
Have you been chewing Crack brownies???
Did you take a bad spill and hit you head somewhere?
Now as for the AIDS epidemic
maybe Because you were a kid and you didn't live through it as a gay man
Ronnie sure as hell couldn't cure it but he could have helped given that he had the biggest purse strings and the largest bully pulpit here on earth
He could have Said SOMETHING or Done somethingh to ease the pain of the thousands upon thousands who were dying long and drawn out and painful deaths
He did nothing he said nothing and he spent nothing
Given all that .... I'm glad he's still dead
Mebbe we need to have the celebration on the day he died ... huh?

No I don't miss Ronald Reagan. It was his "Reaganomics" that is the root cause of our nation's serious financial problems. He ballooned defense spending which put our country in debt. Plus he screwed college students by sharply cutting back on student loans and financial aid just to give it to the richest Americans. He wrongfully ignored the serious AIDS crisis that was tearing through virtually every inner city neighborhood. Black, Hispanic, and gay communities suffered big time during his administration. There is really nothing to miss about this man.
