BTW, Paleo-ish diet will lean you out faster than any other diet available.

A lot of stretching and conditioning, take dance classes, swim.

What you want to do is workouts that create usable muscles.

    This.

ALSO - "self-teaching" isn't the safest way to go. You can stretch and condition at home daily, but I suggest you find classes somewhere in your area/at your college.

Becoming an acrobat isn't an over-night process, and you're gonna seriously hurt yourself if you treat it like it is.

Edit: Start doing yoga to work on your flexibility/balance.

in all honesty, gymnasts are acrobats. so you'll need flexibility, and as stated, usable muscles. Endurance also would not hurt in the slightest.

also free weights mainly dumbbells with reps of inverted presses, curls, overhead presses, extended arm flyes

Have you considered joining an acrobat site, or researching workouts for acrobats?

The Internet is a vast place.

    E.g.
    http://www.livestrong.com/article/481857-acrobatic-exercises/

You might try a modern search engine such as Google. They're really quite useful.

    Here, this should be useful:

Ah, the criticism from the multi-degreed academic elitist (yeah, I read that thread where you douchebragged about your degrees) who sneers down his nose at people who have the temerity to go to state schools of ill-repute... or a least, schools without pedigrees as research institutions.

Because there is no such thing as "teaching yourself", it has to be certifiably qualified with elite credentials to be valid... Yeccch. Your douchbaggery is palpable and quite frankly, disgusting.

DISCLAIMER: Yeah, I'm not taking away from the premise that you can learn a discipline better if you have instruction from someone who has trained significantly longer and harder than you, or otherwise has a measurable record of success in his discipline - but the OP is looking to learn acrobatics for his own leisure. He's not looking to practice neurosurgery.

Thanks guys I would learn gymnastics from an academy or teaching institution of some sort but there are none in my area, so I made myself become an autodidactic. And Calibro I don't know what your problem is or who you think you are but leave me the fuck alone. Get a fuckin life and quit bitching about how smart you think you are you fucking waste of life.

Becoming an autodidact is nice and all, but BE CAREFUL. Gymnasts and Acrobats spend YEARS working hard with a trainer to make sure we don't hurt ourselves. Don't just assume this is going to come easy. I'll suggest again that you find someone to work with you. It's TOO easy to throw out your back or break something because you dont know how to do it.

Your right, I am a little crazy to try, and I will get me a trainer some day. But I only practice what I know I can do, or at least do safely, summersaults lol. well a little more.

At some point, you'll learn how to research all this on your own, and not appear so lazy, and incompetent.

There's a lot that you can learn from a simple Google search. Especially in this day and age. To know nothing about how to even begin says that your ignorance on the subject is willful.

I'm sure there are members that could help you once you narrow down on what it is you need to know. It all starts with some initiative.
