Hey, guys...(although i'm starting to realize this may not be the best forum to hold a discussion about this)

Question: Where do you get your protein?

I'm still trying to get a proper hold on my diet and want to incorporate foods that will give me nutrients i've been neglecting and replacing a portion of the protein i'd buy with powder, instead.

Whey? Casein? I'd like to the my bang for the buck and want to get as much possible for a reasonable price. So far, I've found a 5lb tub for approx $50.

Has anyone found anything out there giving better deals?

    Not all proteins are equal.

Most people consider whey protein isolates superior to whey protein concentrates, and Casein to be used almost solely before bedtime given the slower absorption.

I've found the best deals at Costco and, when discounted, Vitamin Shop (check for sales, at which point load up). When you factor in shipping no online bulk purchase option compared in price. Examples:

    100% whey protein ISOLATE:
Premium Optimum Nutrition brand from Costco, 4.5lb tub of ISOLATE for about $50

    100% BEEF protein ISOLATE:
Vitamin Shop often discounts MuscleMed Carnivore brand, there's debate over whether beef makes a better or even equivalent protein source compared to whey

Casein and other whey proteins (concentrates and better isolates):
Often the Vitamin Shop's in-house "Bodytech" brand is discounted/buy 1, get 1 free

I got mine from Walmart like Calibro said. it's $16 plus tax. It tastes of shit, but it's cheap... The others I've purchased have had better flavor, but I'm more into better price. I just slam it down as quickly as I can anyway!!!!

I hate Walmart passionately, but for this product I suck it up and go there!

With protein, I'd go quality over quantity. Optimum nutrition all natural vanilla is my favorite. 5lbs lasts me a couple months and its probably one of the most natural whey proteins on the market. It also tastes great, always a plus with protein. I get it for about $50 at vitamin shoppe.

Sytha6 here but it just too sweet or me. I am changing into a new brand that most of my gym buds are using -- Fomulx. It's all natural ingredient and contain no sugar, use stevia as a sweetener agent.

....i think you may need the sugar in the protein powder, bro(?).
i'm gonna read up on that syntha6.

the other one doesn't sound natural if it's using stevia to sweeten it.

He's probably talking about (100%?) whey concentrate. 100% whey isolate is better quality. Even I'd have bought it at Vitamin Shop but mine didn't carry Optimum Nutrition brand isolate.
