As you may know, BSA passed a new policy that allows gay boys (through the age of 18 starting at the end of 2013. However, those same gay men get thrown out of the scouts at age 18, according to the to be implemented BSA policy.

I just got an email from a very reliable source that a gay scout has been asked to be in the honor guard Saturday (tomorrow) and the BSA (SLC Council) has said no. The scout is going to march in the parade tomorrow, anyway, and plans a law suit against the BSA.

If you're gay and in Salt Lake City, and, if you were or are a scout, please join the parade.

17 year old gay boys don't turn into 18 year old perverts, and the policy going into effect 1 Jan 2014 is not workable, even on a good day.

I invite you to become an activist in a good cause that says no young man should be made to feel lesser because of his sexual preference and he sure shouldn't be thrown out because he is gay and 18.

A homosexual youth who has been in scouts for a substantial length of time should not be kicked out just because they turn 18. I mostly agree with their policy concerning adult males (only) who join scouts in troop leadership positions. Dykes are welcome though and could really turn these bois into men.

Good grief. I was stuck in SLC one time when The Grateful Dead were in town for a concert. All of the local news stations were running non-stop in national crisis mode, as if we were in a nuclear war or something. (The only threatening images they could come up with were kids throwing frisbees in a park.) I had no idea what was going on (until I turned on the tv) but by strange coincidence, I showed up at the airport (on government business) wearing a tie-dyed tee-shirt. icon_surprised.gif The collective IQ of the place is somewhere around -54.
