My question is, does muscle mass begin to break down in that time period? I haven't done any cardio, lifted waits or anything. That coupled with eating birthday cake and other junk, I feel as though I've taken a giant leap back. I never eat junk food but I have to admit that I have eaten like crap the last week. Any thoughts?

You'll pry not be able to lift as much as you were, but it'll all come back fast.

Just take the first day or two back kinda slow and keep hydrated.

I just got over a cold and was out of commission for about 8 days. I didnt push myself too hard the first day back at the gym but now Im back to my regular routine with no problem. My trainer used to tell me its always a smart idea to take breaks now and then. You will come back stronger. Granted getting sick was not planned but the time off was good.

With my injury I've realized that a few days off, coupled with some junk food is not going to make any significant change in my body composition. I'm sick now too. I hope you feel better quickly...all I've really wanted to put in my body the past couple of days is tea, fruit, soup and emergen-c...lol.

I always take a week off every three months to give my body a break. It helps to get you over plateaus. However, I have noticed that during that week, I'm much more inclined to eat junk food and I'm ALWAYS ready to get back to the gym.

I've had a nasty cold for about two weeks now icon_sad.gif I went to the gym last Friday for my training session, but had to cancel my Tuesday session with the trainer cause I felt like I was hit by a train. I think I'm finally on the road to recovery cause the cough is feeling less to me. I hope my trainer has mercy on my tomorrow icon_eek.gif
