There's a new app available in both the Apple iTunes Store and Google Play called "Setting Captives Free" that thinks it can 'cure' people of being gay. The 60-day course tells gay people they are not "born this way" and offers to help find "freedom from the bondage of homosexuality."

Please sign the petition to have it taken down here:

Certainly won't catch the attention of gays who are totally into bondage.

    Ouch.
Plus, not sure if you know this, but even if the app worked (which it does not) people could still troll this site and say insulting things, under the guise of being a masculine man...
Now if there was an app that did make "fuckers disappear" I'd be on that like fire on brush.

The app is for all kinds of "addictions": drugs, porn, booze, hot man-on-man monkey sex, etc.

I'd say leave it there as a monument to human short-sightedness, bigotry, and stupidity.

With 1000s of reviews to that effect.

    Free Market and all that.

Why demand that the app be taken down?

I dont see anything wrong with it. If someone wanted to download the app for themselves and try to rid themselves of homosexuality.....let them. . . who am I to tell them what to do? It's not my life....it's theirs. They're obviously not happy being gay if they're downlaoding the app in the 1st place. Let people do what they want.

Aren't people more well-adjusted than that? Like, to have an app out there be so threatening to your gayness that u demand it be taken down?

I mean.... I would prob download it for entertainment and a few laughs, not gonna lie. I'm curious as to see what memthods are used and employed to try and change people from being gay to straight.....While I think that whole idea is an impossibility and quite ridiculous--- I'm curious to see whatt the wording is, etc.
I'm comfortable being gay---- that an app could and would not ever change that. How silly.

I demand it be put back up!

Agreed. In our struggle for acceptance as gay people, this the kind of mindset we want people to adopt. And yet, ironically, many of us don't adopt that mindset ourselves. There's a word for people like that: hypocrites.

There's also a word for gay people who argue that other gays should passively accept discourse that implies gay people are diseased and in need of a "cure" -- the type of dehumanizing bigotry that has gay kids so full of self-hate that they are killing themselves: knuckleheads.

The proper way to combat harmful discourse isn't censorship, but rather thoughtful debate. Trying to censor others because they hold an opinion that offends you is petulant.
