I Need a Name

If you have been following the thread http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/3175805, you know my dog Joe has been having severe panic attacks since losing his lifetime buddy a couple months ago, Kelly. So I temporarily fostered a dog from the SPCA to see if it would help him. Well, he hasn't had a panic attack at night since she's been here. She's a transport dog which means she was being shipped out to another shelter in Atlanta and just need fostering for a week until they shipped her out. But they agreed to let me adopt her permanently so that Joe will have a new friend. They said her name was Brûlée....as in Crème Brûlée I suppose. I don't want my dog named after a dessert. She's only five months old, so I'd like to change her name, but I can't think of anything! Help me think of a name please? That's her on the left.

If you can train her to stand on her back legs and hold her front paws up in the air like Patti Lupone I'll gladly relinquish my dog's name to you. My Evita would never cooperate with me in learning that trick so now I call her Dog.

LOL! So I suppose Cream Puff or Sherbet are right out?

Actually sweet getting your dog a companion. Your current dog's name of Joe might be relevant, as both names could be complimentary, but anything rhyming or otherwise similar in sound might confuse the dogs. Or something similar to Brûlée if she's already imprinted on that name.

    Joe & Jane?
    Jennifer
    Molly

    PACS
It's an anagram of SPCA and means "peace" in Latin... sorta.
I've had my second parrot for six months now and cannot think of a name. Oh, well.

She came to your place from nowhere and making you & your dog happy.

They estimated her to be about 5.5 months old and she was found on the street so no that name is not imprinted yet (and don't want it to be.)

You must have stayed up all night thinking of that one! icon_lol.gif

And yes, his name is Joe because that song by Jimmy Hendricks was playing on the radio when I found him in the street. He was paralyzed and being run over by cars. He's had a rough life, but such a sweet dog. I really didn't want another dog but had to get another friend for him to make him feel better.

Am I the only one who thinks the mark on her head looks like a fleur-de-lis? So maybe you can name her Lily or Iris, the two flowers the symbol is based on, according to Wikipedia.

Yeah, I noticed that the first day. But here in New Orleans, the whole fleur-de-lis thing is WAY overused. Hell, half the people I know have fleur-de-lis tattoos somewhere on their bodies. I actually saw a flooring company the other day named "Fleur and Tile." I almost threw up.

First and foremost , you for sure are a great bloke , fostering and adopting an animal from a shelter is beautiful ...She is very lucky to have found you ...
I have been volunteering in animal shelters since i was 15 years old , i am so thankful for people that come to visit us and take a little 4 legged mate back home with them ...So one more time , Thank you !!icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Name wise , i am not a creative mind , so i won't be able to help you find one , but you should choose something with a similar sound than "brulee" , she will be more comfortable and less confused ...

Thanks. I would never consider purchasing a dog.

She doesn't respond to that name so I'm not worried about imprinting. But I can't keep calling her "Sweetie" forever.

My aunt's dog's name is Sweetie. I don't know which came first, the chicken or the egg, but she's a very sweet dog. Maybe you can call her Sweetie forever.
