Just paint over the graffiti with any of the following passages:

1 Samuel 18:1-4 - And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

2 Samuel 1:26 - I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

1 Samuel 18:3 - Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

And there are so many more

Ruth 1:16 - But Ruth replied (to Naomi), "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God."

John 13:23 - "Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved." - interestingly when you look at various modern translations of this, they screwed around with the language to "no homo" it but the KJV and prior are pretty bromantic-sounding.

Unfortunately, most idiots (for what that is what these vandals are) will overlook whatever passages might be written as a counter to their previously-held-and-cemented opinion. They've already decided that LGBTQ persons are icky and that anyone who supports LGBTQ persons with the cloak of a Christian god is violating "Christianity" as a whole. They can also point to segments in Christian Scripture that supports their argument, as such segments exist (the Christian Bible allows and condemns a great many things, often doing both to the very same things).

There is little else to be done than be steadfast in one's more inclusive faith and to be aware that the idiots are now upping the ante and that one should set up surveillance and be ready to prosecute the idiots to the fullest extent of the law.

Agree. When people stoop to this level there's no chance of having meaningful dialogue and open discussion with them. Their minds are already closed.

Incidentally, I know this suburban community of Minneapolis, it's part of Michele Bachmann Land, so this incident is not that surprising. Though ironically I went to a few house parties there for Naked Minnesota, the gay men's naturist (nudist) club to which I belonged. I'm surprised I never ran into Marcus at one. icon_wink.gif

Idiots on both sides have done this to other peoples property. It's wrong when they do it, it's wrong when we do it. It's clearly very few people who engage in this behavior given that the media is eager to run such stories, and they rarely do.

As a native to Maple Grove this doesn't surprise me at all. The town is primarily filled with stuck-up pretentious Jesus freaks like that and I don't associate with it. The Hindu temple was also vandalized a couple of years ago because it wasn't Jesus-y enough either for somebody.

I wonder if they'll have the same balls to vandalize the Supreme Court when the justices rule in our favor?

These are not Christians. These are vicious, mean-spirited, petty, awful people who for some reason consider it their business to attempt to sabotage the happiness of other people.

Personally I think they're just salty that MN legalized same-sex marriage.
