Well here we are in the final week... only the weekend and Monday left for the candidates.

I'll be glad when its over, but I can't help but have a sense of potential satisfaction with the political events of late. I remember 1994 and what happened with congress. The democrats were indeed insensitive that year
and Gingrich was shrewd with his "Contract with America" (what a mess).
You had good, effective men and women out... and clueless republicans in.
Our congressional seat here in Wichita was a case in point. I knew someday, the republicans would be on the mat with the "pink slips" ready.

This election is a partial redemption to 1994. Part of the reason I'm having a party on election night.

And to watch McCain, the Palin govenor and this pathetic "Joe" person on stage and some of the commentary. You'd think if this very good senator
would want to convey most of what I'd expect of him... instead this campaign has largely been just more of the same.. smears and typical tactics you'd find of the republicans.

I'll be glad its over, but I'm very optimistic.. I'm confident I'll be thrilled
    with the outcome.

Couldn't agree with you more. I am not sure what will change, but just the feeling of not having these awful people in control will make a difference, here and abroad.
