You will get invited to your friend cousin Burt's cabin in the woods for a long weekend and as the night goes on a zombified redneck pain worshipping family will come and kill you one by one based on your character attributes. And as you are slain you will know it was because you never paid back your student loans and you had to pay for your errors somehow.

Lol but no really I think it seriously fucks up your credit and you may not be able to get a loan on something else that you need money for like a house or a car.

I heard you get fucked pretty hard. More than you would if you stop paying a credit card debt. As mentioned previously, they wil garnish your wages at least.

Didn't you take advantage of the GI Bill? Or does that not cover beauty school? icon_lol.gif

My friend did take advantage of the GI Bill. But it only covered about 75% of his schooling.

It's a shame that my friend was charged as an out of state resident even though these good for nothing illegal immigrants were given in state rates. This almost doubled the tuition. Not even a veteran can get a break around here!!!!!!

I feel like there's some massive irony in here but I won't comment on it.

My friend could, but had to show that he had this address for at least a year. That, or put off school for an entire year....

Of course not. Just tell your friend to pay attention to what's going on in washington in regards to student loans. This is a real issue. Plus they have several different repayment plans so there is no way that he couldn't afford it.

Plus like the others said it will mess up your credit, prevent future loans and the school will not release transcripts if your friend chooses to further his education. The company that I work for does student loan collections for Rollins College and some of those kids are pricks who come from affluent families.

Tell your friend that she needs to pay it. It will haunt her until it is paid and it is one of the few debts that cannot be discharged if she were to file for bankruptcy.

    Not sure.

It depends where ya friend lives.

In the UK. If you don't earn a certain amount of money then you don't have to pay any sum of money towards the overall loand...and if you don't pay it off in 30 years, it's written off. Theoretically, if you don't earn above a certain wage limit, university is free!

But, I doubt this nice kind of deal will last - governments come and go...rules and Bills are rewritten. Expectations and lives are eventually fucked up.

    Money corrupts.

U can't not repay your student loans, brah.

After completely fucking your credit, they will basically sue you for the money and u will have your wages forcibly garnished... #TrueStory

Even if u file for bankruptcy u can still not get rid of those debts.

I mean, u borrowed the money, now pay it back. Fair is Fair. icon_biggrin.gif

It sucks, dude i know. My older bro, made the wise decision to just stop paying his student loans....annnnd let's just say--his dumbass couldn't even switch cell-phone carriers without a co-signer lol. Also, he couldn't finance a car, won't get approved to buy a house, or even rent an apartment.

Oh, and also he went to apply for this one job that required use of a company credit card---and when the company did a credit check on him--- he didn't get the job.
It really fucked him. I learned from his mistake, cuz I didnt wanna pay mine back either. It's a fucking scam really. But when u sign the papers---what can one do?

So I don't understand what happens after you theoretically file for bankruptcy. So you lose everything in the bankruptcy but you still owe the debt? I get that student loans can't be discharged like other loans. But because they don't get discharged, what happens then? Who pays it back? How?
