So I know that DC pride is this sunday and baltimore pride is on the 16th. I've never gone to one of these but I want to go now since I recently came out and it would be something fun to do. Anyway, I'm a new timer to these things so anyone ever gone to something like this? Any tips?
I don't really want to go alone but can't find someone I think would enjoy it with me as much so I don't want them to bring me down. Anyone here going?

The main tip I have is don't expect to find parking - take the metro in.

In addition to the festival on Sunday, the parade is on Saturday.
    I agree about using Metro.

Use Metro if you can't walk there. Get away from DuPont Circle and 17th street, if you want to avoid the crowds, however if that is your thing...

I'll be driving to a friends (who has private parking on S) and walking from there.

I kinda want to go to DC Pride this weekend. It would be my first one but lately I'm not too sure about it. The weather doesn't look too good and I'd be going alone with no idea what to do.

Check out Baltimore Pride. Here is the link:

DC Pride might be a wash out this year. You will enjoy Baltimore Pride. Every one seems to leave their attitude at home.

An added bonus is the mass wedding on Saturday June 15, 2013 being held at Druid Park.

The event is sponsored by Alpha Eta Omega Sorority, the Alpha Alpha DMV chapter of Beta Phi Omega Sorority, Baltimore Black Pride Inc., SEIU Eastern Regions National Lavender Caucus, Strapped Up Baltimore, The GLCCB, and Unity Fellowship Church of Baltimore.

“We decided we’ve earned this, we deserve this, and the world should know what we already know—love is love,” said Hiers.

I'm still on the fence about going to the parade, but I'm definitely going to Town Saturday evening.

Well, despite predictions of rain and clouds, the weather turned out to be perfect for the parade. We hung out at Number Nine and then walked up to Bistro du Coin for dinner.
    Anyone else go?
