Columbia Men's PFG Freezer Zero Long Sleeve Shirt
I tried this one on a long hike and I felt comfortable but I need to try it on a truly hot day to give it a real test.
The material is designed to provide sun protection, wick away sweat and to cool the skin(somewhat).

Anyone else tried this material or something similar by Nike etc?

No, but I am curious as well. One of my friends said that as you wash those Freeze shirts, the effectiveness gets diminished.

That's sorta true for all athletic clothes. Over time, the wicking effect goes away due to wear and tear on the fabrics. Or due to residue build-up from fabric softeners.

I've been a fan of Under Armour for a few years, and still wear it daily when I'm out in the sun...even when I'm not exercising.
