Have you seen an orthopedic doctor?

Why is it so hard to locate your knee? Have you checked the last place you saw it?

You must've fallen pretty hard. Popping your knee out of place takes a LOT of force, and usually includes soft tissue damage (ligaments, tendons, etc.) The weakening of or loss those stabilizing structures requires a lot of knee stabilization training! Don't rush things too much, but talk to your PT about your progress and if you could do more.

Orthopedic surgeon won't really be much help, as he'll recommend surgery most likely if you don't want PT, and then you'll be in physical therapy right after that.

Best of luck with your rehab!

Have a talk with the therapist. Rushing some things is the surest way to fall behind. Good luck.
