The picture below was e-mailed to me with little context in regards to the accident that occurred. Apparently a gravel truck rear ended a mother and her two children on Highway 101 in California. The truck exited the bridge behind the car pulling the concrete railing down with it. The BMW in the photo sits 100 feet above the grade below.

Oh I remember that. Miraculously everyone in the BMW survived. Only the truck went over the bridge and the driver died. It was pure luck that a Navy Seabee unit was traveling on the same road. They had some heavy machinery with them. It was some type of crane or loader. They positioned it under the BMW so that it wouldn't teeter over. Then local rescue units extracted the passengers.

The design is already in prototype testing. It's called the driverless car. Once that technology is widely used, there will be no more major crashes such as this.

    Horrible accident. Glad they survived.

But I really thought after reading the headline the main topic would be 'women drivers on cell phones'....

Thanks for your reply. I have another photo of some type lift positioned under the car. It is good to know it was a Navy crew.

Well this is the Science & Technology forum. I suppose I could repost and place this in the Political Forum. Lol. Alas however, I doubt many lesbians visit RJ.
