I read a little bit about it today. Frankly, I'm not impressed. I'd much rather see them fix some of the bugs that I've been experiencing in iOS and iTunes (for Windows) for a long time now.

There are a million features you might want to have though. I personally love the flat design, it's fresher and lets cluttered. I already have it on my iPhone and Im loving every bit of it

I find the lack of contrast with the icons somewhat ugly, especially with the pastel colors, and hard to see. I'd need to have a plan, dark background. I only have a 4, anyway. I don't mind simple, but I liked the subtle drop shadow the old icons had. Flat design, to me, looks like 'I can't be bothered to make an effort,'

I think it will take some getting used but dont dismiss the upgrade just because you feel somewhat disconnected with the design. I dont like some of the icons personally, but I think the overall experience looks a million times nicer and cleaner overall which makes it all worth it, that plus all the new features available.

charlitos is right, if you don't upgrade, you may not be able to use future apps, or current apps if they require an upgrade to function that relies on an upgraded iOS backbone to translate the software enhancements. For the record I kind of love this new display as well it looks cleaner.

Eventually I won't have a choice to upgrade the iOS, but for now I won't. I've read about the new features and most don't trickle down to the 4. I just have to resign myself to the fact that I'm of an age where no one gives a shit what I like. Windows 8 is abysmal. Thank god my new pc was available with 7.

I agree I could never understand the desire to fake 3 dimensions on a flat screen.

iOS 7 doesnt release to the public later this Fall so I'm assuming it comes pre-installed with the new iPhone. If they announce a cheaper, colorful version of iPhone then rumor has it they will announce a 4'8 inch screen in Q1 2014. Which I think it is an odd time frame for the new iPhone.
