People do not choose to have more feminine mannerisms.
People DO choose to act like a bitch.
Therefore, just because you're more feminine, doesn't mean you're allowed to be a bitch.

You are who you are. My cousin was a one man gay pride parade marching out of the womb. I've been called "the worst gay guy ever" on multiple occasions because I don't fit their expectation of gay men. It doesn't matter though. People on either side of the coin (and everywhere in between) can be awesome.

Just one point to make here:

Effeminate and camp are two different beasts.

Effeminate traits appear in straight AND gay men and is a natural character trait.

Camp is a learned behaviour; an affected set of mannerisms acquired by interacting with or imitating other camp men.

masc guys have a better chance to act femmie just by hand gestures and stuff.if a femmie guy tries it,it looks like they are trying too hard (no offense to anyone k )
the true way we act isnt a choice, some of us just fake our personality just to bend into society and to be accepted as normal.

I think it's camp behavior that many closeted types have trouble with, because they're against gay culture. Straight people however cherry pick our culture for their own entertainment. I think it should be celebrated, because hating on it is a waste of time, and it's misguided.

If you're being phony to be accepted, yet it's making you unhappy, then you're throwing your life away. Just be yourself and live life to the fullest. You'll be happier. People will like you better if you're being yourself.

I honestly couldn't have said it better myself. With that, I feel it's relevant to discuss that on the first date with another man, I'm often mocked because I have very few traits of camp in me, whereas my dates smoke, wind up having bleach blonde hair, and work at Macy's at the very least.

Also OP- learn to spell your words, please. I have a broken g key and require use of an on-screen keyboard when I post on my laptop, yet with exception of using a (-in') as a suffix substitution, I still spell out all of my words, especially straight.

Who are you to tell anyone what to do? Everyone is free to live their life as they so CHOOSE. If they want to camp it up and act ultra femm, so what. How is it hurting you. If they want to act ultra masculine and dress like a cowboy everyday and walk and talk like John Wayne, so what. What's it to you? How is it hurting you?

Just concentrate on yourself and be the self you want to be. The beauty of being a human being is we get to CHOOSE for our selves. We are not brute animals who are slaves to their instincts. A cat sees a bird and instinctively sees it as prey. As human beings we see a bird and we can choose to see it as a pet in a cage, a beautiful song bird to be protected and fed at a feeder, a duck to be enjoyed for dinner (provided it is in season and you have a hunting license), or an endangered species to be protected.

We human beings do not have to be slaves; we can choose to be how we want to be. Do you want to be femm? Then by all means camp it up such that a trail of glitter follows you everywhere. You'll get no flack from me and I won't even care if it's an act. You have the right to act as you see fit. It's not a reflection on me or the entire gay community for that matter. Those who see it as a threat are the ones with the problem.

And to address the canard that "no one chooses to act fem," how do you explain the guys who once they are out they camp it up to no end? I hear many stories from gay friends how say they knew someone in high school or college who was very straight in appearance and dress and that when they came out it was no-holds-barred guuuurl this and gurrrrrrrl that, and hands flailing, and hips swishing. So don't tell me people don't act. And it's alright with me. I'm not threatened at all by it.

I don't act anything. I was born a Bona Fide Homosexual, have liked and loved men my whole life, and I am me. But my preference is for men who appear straight and whom are not all gay acting; but that's because I am attacked to men
