I train on my heavy days for squats raw - barefoot (sock foot?) and no belt or any other special gear/wraps.

I follow Mark Rippetoe's guidelines for back squats (bar resting on top of scapulae, lowered down thighs parallel to ground)

I'm not really sure what I could 1RM at, but probably could get a rep or two off at 305 lbs.

My heavy squat day working loads for reps are:

    135x10 (warmup)
    275x5
    260x8
    245x10~12 (to failure)

    460lbs is beastlike @ OP. I'm impressed.

I usually max out at about 330 for 6-8 reps.

Never really tried to do a one rep max before so maybe I can do more.

What does raw mean? If you're wearing shoes and a belt, it doesn't sound raw to me.

    I do 350 @ 5 sets, 3 min between.

I want to see leg pics....thats a crazy amount to be doing 15 reps at. 90% of the guys I see doing squats at the gym don't even make it to parallel.

I would love to get legs as big as this guy...here he's doing 485 x 8 reps

Raw (In this topic) refers to lifting with no assisting gear, such as bench shirts, elbow or knee wraps, a compression singlet, or wrist hooks (not relevant to squatting, but they would allow you to pull/deadlift beyond your grip strength).

I haven't maxed out for a long time. I usually work my way up to a set of 20 at 315 though. there is a point with weight for me where the risk of injury outweighs my need to lift really heavy.

    #BigNumbers #BigReps

I'm in awe... no, really. I'm a frakkin' weakling compared to some of you guys pushing 300#-plus for reps.

Hopefully I can break the 300# barrier in a few months - sometimes I feel as though I may be reaching the limit of my very crappy genes lol

So OP didn't actually lift raw. icon_lol.gif
