This show has one of the best formats of all the reality competition shows. It does Idol better than Idol does Idol. Season three was great...Danny is an incredible dancer, but his arrogance turned me off. I thought Neil and Lacey's contemporary, the one with the flowers, was one of the best routines of the season.

That show is one of the most horrid shows in the history of time!
The only thing that has EVER come out of that show that had any real dance or artistry, that didn't rely on circus tricks or "flopping and twitching" on the floor "lyrical" (which isn't even really a form of dance, but something made up for competition) is the aformentioned "Flower and Hummingbird" piece choreographed by Wade Robson.

don't what season they were in but my favourite routines in sytycd were:

    - contemporary "calling you" (?) by celine dion. travis and heidi
    - hip hop "sexy love" by ne-yo, allison and ivan
    - hummingbird dance "chairman's waltz" from memoirs of a geisha, hok and ?
    - hip hop, robot dance?, pasha and lauren
    - animation hip hop, vanessa and henry
    - african pop, "w'happy mama" zap mama, travis and heidi
    - samba, vanessa and henry
    - waltz, "flying" by cait angus ?, travis and heidi

favourite dancers from the show (don't remember the seasons)

    heidi
    donyelle
    travis
    twitch
    katee
    comfort
    nick, season 1
    -------
    aussie version

    vanessa
    henry
    jack

re: stripperrocco, sytycd is a competition so shouldn't lyrical be seen as a legitimate genre in that context? how about competition dance genres like ballroom.

aren't all of the judges professional dancers themselves, some retired and some choreographers? i'd think they'd know what they're doing. the show to me looks like entertainment firstly, a showcase of certain styles and a giant audition/promotional exposure for talent and the dance arts industry.

It's a great show. Where it absolutely tops Idol is that the contestants all have worked very hard, whether "trained" or not.

I saw Neil the other night at my local market. Had to tell him how much I enjoyed him on the show. He's cute as hell. (And appearing in a musical off-B'way right now)

PS - Kiplayer, that is a great number. Danny is a beautiful man, to my eyes, and a terrific dancer.

Perfect example of why Lacey has been great for DWTS!! Even if Len didn't like it!

Here is one of my favorites from this past season of So You Think You Can Dance! Tabitha and Napoleon have been great additions to that show with their choreography!
