Okay, I thought this really funny......

Quebec Pair Prank Palin with faux-Sarkozy phone call!

Updated Sat. Nov. 1 2008 4:47 PM ET
    CTV.ca News Staff

Two notorious Quebec comedians have pranked Sarah Palin, tricking the Republican vice-presidential nominee into thinking she was speaking with French President Nicolas Sarkozy during a Saturday afternoon phone call.

"Oh my God, seriously, it's probably the biggest we've ever done," Marc-Antoine Audette, a member of comedy duo The Masked Avengers, told CTV.ca Saturday afternoon.

During the nearly seven-minute chat, the conversation ranges from politics to hunting with vice-president Dick Cheney.

The topics also touch on Palin's political future -- a sensitive topic for some of John McCain's campaign staffers, who have suggested Palin is already looking at a presidential run in the next four years.

I was just watching MSNBC and they ran the whole tape. I have to say, as much as I dislike Sarah Palin, I felt sort of bad for her. But I think the bigger point here is, how unprofessional is her staff that they allowed her to talk to this guy?!?! Whoever vetted her for McCain obviously vetted this call!!!

Despite disliking Palin, I'm not real happy with this prank. She was gracious if still her usual goofy self, and I have to fault her staff for not properly screening the call.

At the same time, one has to wonder what kind of staff this potential US VP has assembled that would permit this to happen.

She sounded sweet on the phone and will sound just as sweet as she tells you that you have no equal rights. We were pretty surprised that the caller was simply taken at face value.
Heck you can't even get to a bank manager that easily. Didn't they even have call display?

One could assume that any incoming call of importance is going to be "blocked" or "private" on caller ID. Le Président Bling-Bling (how we call him in France) isn't going to have his Elysée number displayed for CD to catch.

Also, I get plenty of overseas calls and the number is always jumbled, chaotic, and never the same. Hell, most people are using Skype now to make all overseas calls so that right there kills caller ID for most.

I don't know if I feel thats in good taste given the political climate in the United States right now... Perhaps after the elections it might have been more tasteful or not at all I dunznoicon_neutral.gif

This isn't as much about her as about her campaign Staff

    ... That's what a staff is FOR
of course stupid people are going to try to contact you
and stupid people are going to ask stupid questions

but a campaign staff is PAID to keep them at bay
The McCain-Palin campaign just doesn't cut it
They have made mistake after mistake ... and this is just the icing on the cake
