I love Pride holiday in Columbus, and always try to have a new and comfortable outfit, to beat the heat and still be kind of unique. I have 3 formal kilts with my family colors and tartan pattern, but this is a casual kilt. I have never worn one to an outdoor festival event. Halh expect to have wondering hands grabbing at me, not sure if that is fun or annoying. Anyone ever wear a kilt to pride? What was your experience.

Yes I have, my husband & I have matching kilts, Black Watch Tartan. We chose it because we don't have a family tartan, and we're both former military, so that kinda appealed to us.

Fun to wear out in public, and the breezes do feel funny down there, since we wear them w/o shorts underneath. (I do wear an extra-long cotton T-shirt beneath my outer shirt, though, which sorta acts like a "slip" to keep the fabric clean, especially when sitting). I've only had a few guys lift my kilt to check me out, but these were gay functions like Pride, so who cares? icon_wink.gif

Another kilt thread ? Thankfully this one hasn't turned into a flamewar. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, and enjoy your new kilts. But be forewarned, you are stepping foot into a minefield here. Be prepared to have the wrath of St. Columba called down upon you for cultural desecration, and be consigned to the fate of William Wallace. But until then, enjoy your kilts.

I was JUST thinking that I wanted to wear a kilt! But I'd need to uber butch up the styling to pull it off.

What's a casual kilt? A Donna Karan skirt like in that old sitcom bit about the transvestite Scot?
