I made a post "I am gay but I'm still a man." I never said it as a statement but as something I heard at the cafeteria by a college guy who was outed by a girl for being gay.

Despite the negative comments here is a flip question.

Would you date yourself? Are you the sort of man you would date?

Aristoshark saidWell, let's see the advantages of dating oneself:

    1) We already like the same food. We would never argue about which restaurant to go to.
    2) No fighting over the blankets at night.
    3) He instinctively knows when I need my own space for a while.
    4) The sex is awesome. He knows just what I like!
    5) I already like his friends and his family.
    6) He's out to everyone.

There must be more. Sounds ideal.

The best part is that he never complains about anything I do, never nags and pretty much agrees with everything I say. icon_razz.gif

Don't be silly, that's the sort of cheap vaudeville joke that I adore!

Well that might be but I still have to paint.

I mean this in the least self-depricating way as possible but I would never date me lol.
Or who knows, maybe I would since I do enjoy my own company whenever I'm alone.

You wouldn't have to. From what I hear, many RJers are crushing on you.
You have so many secrets! Do you have the dirt on everyone's crushes?

Yes & no. On one hand, yeah, I'd date me. I think, with due modesty, I'm a catch for the right guy. On the other hand, I think opposites often attract, and that a couple comprised of opposites is often stronger--more enduring, more endearing--than a pair of clones.

Yes! In most ways I am and in others I strive to be the sort of man I want to date.

    I would not date myself.
I am introverted and afraid to take risks.
I am attracted to the opposite of me which are outgoing guys with a wild side.

No I wouldn't. I do like the person I am but I don't want to date a clone of myself. I do like differences. icon_smile.gif

    Nope.

I have few problems with myself, however, I want something different in another man. A polar opposite (or somewhat close) that I can love and who loves me back. Sure we'll clash, but we'll compromise and grow together.
