2 things about yourself NOT in your profile?

  • Nov 03, 2008 8:43 AM GMT
Hey guys, there seems to be lots of threads about "What would you do" ?or "What do you think about someone else" ? Think it would be cool to know a little something more about ourselves personally . Something you do,like, have accomplished, want to accomplish etc ..something that you don't mind sharing and is a cool fact about yourselves!!! Something extra NOT in your profile. Who knows could be a great conversation starter for others...I will go ahead and start.

    1) I was adopted at 6 months old and do not know my biological roots, but have amazing adoptive parents!

    2) Would really like to try Nude Yoga!

Oh I just signed up for nude yoga! I will let you know how that goes.

For me the two tings would be:

    1. I enjoy wine tasting
    2. Practicing nudism and loving it! icon_razz.gif

LOL! I'm a naturist (nudist), too! Belonged to a couple of official gay naturist groups, one that had a campground, and another that was city-based but had all kinds of indoor & outdoor activities. Not a member after moving to Florida, where a nearby legal nude beach gives me all the skin exposure I need, plus lots of clothing-optional gay resorts here, too.

My second non-profile item would be that I'm a disabled US veteran, on full Social Security with Medicare coverage, blue handicapped permit for the cars, the whole deal. Even my motorcycle license tag/plate has the handicapped icon!

But I try to stay in shape, as therapy and for my overall health, a reason RJ interests me. And what I want to accomplish next is the 165-mile SMART Ride down to Key West on my bicycle in 2 weeks, to raise money for HIV/AIDS. I'll feel really good about myself if I can do that at nearly 60 and disabled.

    Random point #1
I'm obsessed with learning and look forward to completing some further study - most likely either grad medicine or further post grad research that builds on my current work (at the moment I work in health promotion/public health with a focus on using technology to promote mental health and wellbeing among marginalised youth).

    Random point #2
I love design (in all of its variations - especially architecture and graphic design), and spend way too much time on design websites, reading design books, exploring galleries and browsing stupidly over priced and often pretentious but very pretty design magazines. From time to time I ponder abandoning my current career path altogether or perhaps tweaking it toward urban design / planning for health and wellbeing.

    Hmmm,

Bill used to be a logger, and is the son of a rather famous doctor/specialist up here.

Doug came in third in the intermediate piano (classical category) competitions at the University of BC, and used to roller-skate the Stanley Park seawall (5 kilometer distance) most days when he lived in Vancouver - sometimes twice.

    Kind of random but...

I could fly a plane (Piper Cherokee) before I could drive a car.

I sat on a couch with Renata Scotto in her dressing room and we both agreed that our favorite Puccini was 'Suor Angelica'.

1.) I used to be a figure skater... placed 12th out of 27 in the nation of boys aged 9-11 in 1985.

2.) My favorite thing to do on a clear cool day is sit by the runway of a major airport and watch the planes take off and land for about two hours.

I'm not sure if I like sex or dancing more. For lots of years, I stopped going dancing in the clubs. I guess I thought I outgrew them. Last year, I changed my mind and I'm glad i did. There is nothing to compare to the fun and good spirit of dancing in a gay nyc club when the music is great, the crowd is together and in sync and everyone is smiling and polite.

But I aint a spring chicken. So if it's one of those marathon dances that starts the night before and ends the next day in the afternoon, this is how i do it. I go to sleep at home just about when the party is starting. I get a good nights sleep. I arrive at the club about 8am, and dance until the afternoon.

At that time, the crowd has thinned.....there is more room to dance, the riff raff has left and most importantly, the music changes from that high energy whailing diva shit to more danceable fun stuff.

Try it......you don't need to do heavy drugs.

I get REALLY uncomfortable in big crowds. Probably why I won't go to clubs and rarely go to bars.

I used to have a daily fight with depression. Have mostly overcome it now (never gonna be completely conquered) with no help from drugs or doctors.
