He said "Congressman," not "Senator," so that means someone in the House.

    Maybe it's Aaron Schock.

I've heard multiple people say in the very recent past that he's on Grindr - including from someone on RJ. icon_biggrin.gif

Grindr screenshots would be pretty definitive, if they can get something identifying.

If he's outed at least that is one more rich politician some golddigging twink can get the chance of marrying, having a baby with and then divorcing him and get a huge settlement and child support.

    This is true equality.

Technically, no---"Congressman" is a term for a member of either the House or the Senate. He didn't say "Representative", so it could be Miss Lindsey Graham, but my money's on Miss Aaron Schock. It won't be Miss Mark Kirk, because she has a reasonably good record (for a Republican) on being down with teh gayz.

Miss Graham is my wish, because she has been so often in front of the camera spewing her hypocrisy, but I think it is likely someone else. I don't know if it would actually be outing if it were Graham since it is the worst kept secret. Aaron Schock is more likely, but it would not give me the same satisfaction as seeing Lindsey's pouty face sink even lower.

I have to say I think it is really sad that we want these people to be outed to hurt them instead of them being outed to enrich their lives.

And yes I know they are hypocrites and yes I know they tried to take away our rights. But as gay/bi/trans people we know what it is like to be hurt and is really mature and fair to hurt others the same way they hurt us?

And I would be on Aaron Schock, faster than maple syrup on a Canadians lips!

The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football field, in an army, or in an office.
    Dwight D. Eisenhower

Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson

Integrity is the essence of everything successful.
    R. Buckminster Fuller

In looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy. And if they don't have the first, the other two will kill you.
    Warren Buffet

A single lie destroys a whole reputation for integrity
    Baltasar Gracian

It means nothing to say you have won an award for exhibiting compassion if you are not always being that kind person. Without integrity, there is no community.

When someone actively works to oppress people, I guess I just don't care if they are hurt in the process to expose their hypocrisy.

Then in a way, you are no better than them. And it is a vicious cycle of hate that keeps going around and around.

No when someone is gleefully working to hurt other people their hypocrisy deserves to be exposed. This is just like if an anti choice politician secretly had an abortion.

Exposing hypocrisy is not a process of hurting. Sometimes the pain is in the healing.

But what is the intention of exposing the hypocrisy?

The intent of exposing hypocrisy is maintaining integrity. Are there subsets of motivational forces within that intent? That also comes down to integrity, so maintenance is then required of all of us at our individual levels.

Does deriving a sense of vindication derail or deny that intent? Or is that just a bonus with purchase? I suppose that depends on your level of camp.

You talk about integrity like it is everywhere, but name someone in politics who has it. No one.

Yes because I like seeing bad people get what's coming to them.

And how do we know it's a man? It could be a woman. A particular woman who is leaving office at the moment.

No it is a viscous cycle. When anti-gay people attack gay people, gay people get mad and retaliate against them...then the anti-gay people retaliate...it's just a circle that keeps spinning...with equal parts of hate all around.

It seems as if when gay people expose anti gay people for what they are they either fall back or change their tune. Look the only way sometimes to silence hateful voices to expose that they have no right to be shouting.

Am I getting paid to make thousands of peoples lives more difficult? Am I on television spewing vitriol about an entire populace and inspiring a voting block to vote against them all the while knowing I am one of them? No. There is no comparison.
