I am a Rhode Island resident with a warning to anyone who is concerned about the economy and is thinking about voting for a democratic candidate, don’t! In Rhode Island, where I live the Democratic Party has been in control of our legislature for over 65 years! Rhode Island is dealing with a $400,000,000 dollar deficit. Yes Four hundred million and we only have a million residents in our small state, you do the match.

Our poor Republican Governor veto’s state budgets with deficits in order to try to balance the budget. Every time the governor veto’s the democratic state budget, they just override it. The last time they overturned a veto on the sate budget democratic leaders were laughing! Laughing, hahaha we are going to waist your tax dollars and there is nothing you can do about it! Now Rhode Island has the worse economy of any state in the union. We have also had the highest unemployment rate and some of the highest taxes! Rhode Island has a hostile business atmosphere because the democrats want to tax them heavily, thus crippling business. Now the democrats want to achieve a veto proof majority in the US house and Senate as well as have Obama capture the presidency! I say NO way, look at Rhode Island and learn that higher taxes is NOT the way! icon_evil.gif

Please look into this more for yourself. Go to Factcheck.org, and try to c Fox News, do not believe the negative liberal smear against Fox, watch it for a few minutes and see facts presented to you that you will never see from other media sources because Fox is fair and balanced! You can also see what I am talking about what the Democrats have done in Rhode Island by checking out Projo.com
You can do to the Commentary section and editorials on page C5, Monday, November 3, 2008. Please check out the article titled, “R.I. Leaders let state drift to disaster by Leonard Lardaro.

Please vote for a positive change in leadership, please consider voting for John McCain and local Republican Reps. in your districticon_biggrin.gif

    Thank you.

I'd do a little more research before trying to pin things on one party or another... icon_confused.gif

You live in New England. You have a whole hell of alot within short trip distance but the downside if you have a state that sets itself up into every town for itself budgets. You pay higher taxes because you have town services instead of county. You pay higher taxes too for a better than average education, healthcare, and transportation. You have multitudes of local and regional boards and government organizations rather than a few larger statewide ones. You have many buildings that sit and suck money to upkeep because it's so hard to demolish and get past objections on historic sites. This all costs money and because of the small town ideals of most states here you pay more on average than people in states like Texas or Idaho. All that division costs more money than combining services statewide.

You pay for where you live. You could move west where the expenses are more spread out, or hope universal healthcare helps reduce your states expenses. But I don't think voting in red or blue people is going to make much difference.

Fox News is fair and reasonable. That statement should be put into the RJ hall of fame for most outlandish made in a forum comment.

What every happy pills you are on flexonyou I want some. Being divorced from reality probably has its' advantages.

What FOX NEWS do you watch? Fair and balanced when? I have watched fox news and there is not fair and balanced in it's reporting. There is no way I'm voting republican or voted republican (early voting yay) I did that once and California is still paying for that mistake!icon_biggrin.gif

Well guess what? .. they made off with billions and billions
Nobody is safe and it's gonna get worse
Send a love note thanking Mr Greenspan and the republican banking committee. I'm sure they'll like the sentiment

Banks and Mr. Alan haven't had as much influence as people people think.

State budget deficits are not caused by just republicans and federal chair holders.

Yeah, how dare someone share a minority view point! He should know to keep his mouth shut and just say what everyone else says! Sheesh!

Most if not all state governments are hurting, because of the national economic meltdown. Republican as well as Democratic-led state governments are in financial trouble. Rhode Island's plight is not the worst, nor is it the result of Democrats in your legislature. A little political & economic sophistication would benefit you a great deal. icon_rolleyes.gif

Love the faux outrage. It's the one thing Republicans are good at.

Well this is a first... I have never heard a gay person call Fox News "fair and balanced."

Then again, Fox does have a person to balance the views of O'Reilly. Colmes is just as stong a debater as Hannity. Oh ya and I'm the hottest guy on here, I have a 10" cock, and I am brutal top.

The hate, disrepect, and vemon O'Reilly spews at some of his guests is heart-breaking. He is one of the worst journalists out there. Hannity is way more powerful than Colmes... I don't see any show called Colmes' America on Fox's line up.

Many people see Fox as being fair and balanced... but most of those people are white Christian males who are into business and the economy.

    I'm curious, flexonyou....

Are you a one issue voter? Please list any 15 issues that are important to you and tell me with "political side" you agree with

    e.g. 1.) Abortion: Pro-Life-Republican.... (why?)

You trouble me with some of the posts you have made... and I want to know more about your views. Thanks icon_smile.gif

Expressing a view point is one thing, but it would be nice if it was backed up with a bit of rational thought. There are a lot of RJ members who I do not agree with but they at least attempt to do their research. To say Fox News is fair and balanced and is the victim of liberal smears is laughable beyond belief.

I completely agree, but to make a personal attack on a poster and use name calling like a 5th grader as someone above did, is completely uncalled for.

I am all for a mature intelligent 2 way discussion of facts and opinions!!

B-Sides tend to be secret hits that avoided mainstream overexposure. But not always.

I kept looking for the punchline, but you REALLY believe FOX News is an unbiased source of information? I HAVE watched it for more that five minutes, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see they have more than a slight bias.

It's threads like this that make me think that there are non-gay people on this website pretending to be gay in order to spread B.S like this. Just a speculation. icon_eek.gif

It's okay. Now the Republicans can know how it felt for us Dems in 2004. And 2000. And 1988. And 1984. And 1980....

You'd have to be living under a rock the past eight years to think that the arguments that the OP has made are the least bit salient. I think his post insults the collective intelligence of RJers and I think some folks let him know it. It has nothing to do with him being in the minority, so stop thinking there's some conspiracy. I never thought playing the victim + paranoia was part of the GOP platform.
